Frisk sat, her feet dangling near the river as the large "Wrong number song" played. The rushing water seemed to calm Frisk, but was unsettled when she heard an echoing giggle. "You thought you could get away? How funny is that." Frisk leaned back on her hands and looked out. She felt a soft hand on her shoulder to look over and nothing be there. "Now you see me, now you don't. I'm always here, Frisk." She shivered. "Always."

Frisk stood, her eyes studying everything about the land. She began to walk to Snowdin but was stopped by Papyrus. "Nyeh-heh-heh! I see you are new here! I am the Great Papyrus!" He stopped for a moment. "Er... You are a human, correct?!"

Frisk nodded with a shrug. "More or less."

"I shall take that as a yes!! Nyeh!" He grinned, his eyesockets bright with opportunity. After a moment of thinking of what to say, he rushed off to sans.

Frisk stood for a moment before heading the opposite direction than Papyrus. Before she reached the blind dog, she was stopped by Sans. She looked up at him with a blank expression.

Sans was eying her before he spoke. "Look kid," he started. "I know your afraid." His smile faltering to almost just nothing, he looked down. "But.. Don't be. And.." He puffed out a sigh and laughed slightly. "man this is hard," he mumbled. "I.. Uh.."

Frisk raised an eyebrow at what sans was going to say. The wind made the child's hair whirl around her round face. Looking up at sans, she stuck her hands behind her back. In her backpack she felt the knife again. Damnit, Chara!

Chuckling, he shook his head. "Never mind. Sorry to waste your time. Oh and, if I hear anything negative this time.." His little white pupils dissipated. "Your going to have a real bad time." The pupils returning, he chuckled, walking past. "Cya, kid."

Frisk stood, taking out the knife. With the knife in hand, she sighed. "Chara I don't want to do this.."

Stepping out from behind a tree, Chara rolled her glowing red eyes. "You must, Frisk. Otherwise..." She took out the picture again. "And I've decided this isn't enough."

Her eyes widening, she held the picture close. "Then what is?"

Chara's grin reached from ear to ear as her rosy cheeks glew with her eyes. "Oh.. Nothing much.. Except... Have you heard of Alternate Universes?"

Grumbling, she rolled her crystal eyes. "What are you gunna do? Put us in an AU?"

Chara shrugged. "It all depends on you, frisk. It's just Sans..." Her words echoed in her mind and with a blink, Chara was gone. Frisk shook her head, pulling the picture close and tried rubbing off the red crayon used to cross out their faces. When it made it worse, she sighed, putting it in her backpack.

...

Puzzle after puzzle, frisk cheated her way past. She had done them countless times that she just didn't do them. She sat down, staring at the picture of her and her friends as the brothers bickered back and forth about with puzzle was harder and which was more for children.

After a moment, sans noticed the picture she was looking at. "What's that, kid?" He asked, pointing to the picture.

Frisk fumbled for a moment, the photograph slipping and flying off. "No!" She called, getting up and running after it.

Waving in the wind, it fluttered about the sky on the large gust. Frisk frantically ran after it, jumping up and down, but unable to reach it. As it fell, she was trying not to slip and fall as well; for she was on ice. "No..." Tears welled in her eyes as Sans walked up behind her.

"What was that anyway?" He asked.

Sans startling her, Frisk fell down into the ground below. She was flailing in the air for a moment, but relaxed. To her pleasant surprise, there was ground below her. It was snowy too. She noticed she had landed in a pile of snow labeled "sans" and next to it a large snow-skeleton labeled "The Great Papyrus".

Never had she seen this before. She didn't venture down here all the different times she had reset. She got up, dusted herself off, and looked at the two. Sans joined her.

"There's your picture, kid." He said, pointing at a little paper looking think on top of papyrus' snow-skeleton.

She nodded a thank you and tried jumping to get it. When she couldn't, frisk devised up a plan and made a little snow box. Packing it down with more and more snow, it became mostly solid. She climbed up in the box and grabbed the photo off of papyrus' snow-skeleton's head. Looking at her snow thing, she grabbed her knife and made a smiley face on the box. Smiling at it, she dropped the knife, but it teleported into her bag.

Sans stepped back, raising a non-existent eyebrow. "Woah, kid. Where'd you get the knife."

Not caring anymore, she shrugged. "Chara gave it to me."

"I thought I threw that off a cliff."

She shook her head, turning back around to sans. "Nope, she grabs it and puts it in my bag. She won't let me lose it... Or hurt myself with it."

Sans tilted his head slightly and shrugged it off. "Cmon kid, pap'll get worried."

Frisk sighed, her head sinking. "I can't go with you, sans..." She closed her eyes. "Stay away from me this run..."

Sans, taken back by this, grabbed her shoulders. "Why would I ever do that?" ("Not like I hate you enough to do it anyway," he thought.)

Looking up, her crystal blue eyes shone red. "BecAusE SanS.." Her voice was slightly disoriented as she backed up, shaking her head. "Just trust me on this."

...

After a while, sans had left and frisk was just looking at the statues. She noticed Chara sitting next to her as well.

"You failed yet again, Frisk." She heard in her mind.

Frisk sighed. She sunk her nose deeper into her scarf. "I don't care anymore, Chara.. Just.. Don't hurt them.. Do what you want with me." Huffing a laugh, she looked at the three things made of snow. "Hell, it'd be better off if I died with Flowey than ever even meeting them.. I couldn't hurt them then."

Chara looked at Frisk. "You know, you're really starting to grow on me." She narrowed her eyes. "In a bad sort of way."

Frisk picked up a rock and looked at it. "Sorry, bud." She smirked, looking at Chara. "You know, all you've done to me is torment me and torture me. But.. Through the little acts you do, I can see why Asriel liked you so much."

Taken back by this, Chara stood, her eyes burning with hate yet her face shone with love. Her eyes turned black and a hideous grin spread over Chara's face.

"Do not ever speak of that name."

Frisk was startled at the sight, but calmed herself. Pitching the rock at her statue, she stood. "Well, guess it's time to move on. See you later, Chara."
