After convincing me to do cheer, sports and music, we head over to the lake to hang out before curfew. We head our different ways to get into more conferrable clothes. Mine consists of some stretchy black shorts, and a fitted tee with a sports bra underneath. Once me and Tally are ready to go, we go and meet the boys by the lake.

We saw them sitting on the dock with their feet dangling in the water. We decide not to push them in but to rather sit with them and enjoy the last night at camp. We were just relaxing and having a great time when we heard the bowl horn make its noise, letting you know that an annoucment is about to be broadcast ed. We quiet down and wait for the voice to come on.

"Hello everyone! I just wanted to tell you that you all have been approved to go to the school for the next year! Congratulations! Also, s'mores are being made now if you wanted any." Sharon tells us before cutting it off. We look at each other before getting up and running to the fire pit.

 I walk over to Lucas.

"Hey. Why are you looking so glum?" I ask him, noticing his sad face.

"This is my last summer. I will be a senior at school then I will be off to uni." He tells me. I can tell he is happy to be heading out into life but he would be sad to leave all this behind.

"Hey. None of this pouting shit. This is our last night so man up, put a smile on your face and be happy. You can always come back and visit." I tell him softly slapping his face. He cracks a smile and I can tell my mission is completed. I give him a small smile, and walk back over to my friends at the fire. Once we are all done our s'mores, we head back to our cabins to get ready for bed, letting sleep quickly embrace us.

I wake up to the sound of birds chirping. I sit up and stretch out the knots I gained after my sleep. I swing my legs out of bed and walk over to my bag. I grab my clothes for the day and make my way to the bathroom. I see most of the showers are being used so I walk into one of the open ones. Once I am done, dry, and dressed, I brush my hair out quickly and leave it to dry. I pack my pjs in my bag and zip it up. I make my way outside to the dining hall for my last meal here.

I spot my fathers car so I make a detour over to it and drop my bag off beside it. Once that is done, I make my way to the food. As soon as I step in, I smell the bacon. Not only do I smell bacon, but I see at least four pieces on every ones plate. I rush over to the line and wait my turn. When I get to the front of the line, Mr. Chef gives me more of everything and a sad smile. I offer one back along with a thank you and go to get a drink. Once I have my apple juice, I go to find a seat. I see everyone at our usual table over in the corner and an open seat between my father and Jeremy. I sit down and immediately start eating.

I give Jeremy a small smile once I have eaten half of it. I look at everyone to see them staring at me.

"What?" I ask them. They all look at each other, exchanging a knowing look.

"Ask your dad." Tally's mom tells me. I look over at my dad with a questioning look. He clears his throat and turns so he is facing me.

"I broke up with Sherry." He tells me. If there was any food in my mouth, it would be on display for everyone to see.

"Why?" I ask leaning back in my chair, absorbing the news.

"Well I confronted about everything you told me and she said everything was true. I can't be with a women who disrespects my child. It was a long fight but she says she will be out of the house by the time we get home. We also found a nice house, but the downside, is you will have to take the bus to and from school." He tells me. I look over to him and give him a big hug.

"Dad. Can I tell you something?" I ask after I lean back.

"You can ask me anything." He tells me with a smile.

"I want to join things this year." I tell him, locking eyes with Taly, Nate and Jeremy who haave been watching the whole thing.

"Oh? Like what?" He asks.

"A music program, the sports teams, and cheer leading." He keeps a smile on his face till I get ot cheer leading. He looks shocked.

"Why cheer leading? Sports and music I understand but why that?" He finally asks after a few moments of silence.

"I made a promise with Tally." I say while looking at her.

"Well why not?" He tells me with a smile. I smile back and finish my food. Once we are all done, we get our awards for the summer. Nate gets the best male athlete. I get best female. Jeremy gets best musician award. Tally gets best tan. We all laugh a little at that one. And the best overall helping award goes to me also.

"Why do I get this?" I ask once I am on the stage.

"You were nominated after you helped Jeremy. You saved his life, physically and mentally. You also helped this camp" Sharon tells me while handing me the award. I take both and go sit down. As we are about to leave Jeremy, Tally and Nate go up on stage.

"If we could give one more award." They say looking at Sharon. She smiles and waves for them to continue.

"We, on behalf of the camp, would like to give the best performer award to Ella, for her performance at the dance." They say while waving me up on stage. I stumble up there and take the mic.

"Um thanks? I guess." When I try to hand the mic back they take a step back. I hear the music start to play and I give them a death glare. They mouth you love us. I mouth back I have to. I let the music start before singing. (Play video. I found this cute lyric vid, then there is that one chick. And the shirtless guys. And the one in the bow tie ;) I have a thing for bow ties.)

I've never seen a diamond in the flesh

I cut my teeth on wedding rings in the movies

And I'm not proud of my address,

In a torn-up town, no postcode envy

The song ends faster than I anticipated and everyone is on their feet clapping. I see my dad silently crying. I give him a wave which he returns.

"That is why we gave you the award." They tell me. I give them all a hug and go over to my dad. He holds out his arms and I run into them.

"I missed you daddy." I say into him.

"I missed you too." He tells me while stroking my hair.

Oh how I cringe at the word 'Daddy'
