Warning, bad language ahead
The next day, I wake up to the songs on the radio, not that I am paying attention. I swing my legs out of bed and go into the bathroom. The doctor said I can take the bandages off today. After doing that, I hop into the shower washing my hair. Once I get out, I wrap the towel around my body and one on my hair, catching any extra water droplets. After drying my hair I look in my closet for clothes to wear.
Choose a pair of underwear, a bra, my rose pattern crop top and a some soft green short shorts. I put my socks on , but I notice how ugly my cuts look. I put my sneakers on and walk down the stairs.
"Morning dad." I greet my dad, sitting on a stool at the bar, waiting for what he has made today. Turns out he made waffles. I cut it up after putting butter and honey on them.
"Morning. How did you sleep?" He asks, his eyes, briefly glancing at my cuts. I let him look, it's not like I care. My boyfriend broke up with me.
"Pretty good. How did you?" I ask him.
"Normal. You better get going before you are late." He says, pushing me out the door after putting my lunch in my bag. I plug my head phones in, and start on the walk to school.
Today, when everyone is looking at the bus again, I walk right into the school. I go to my locker and put my things away before grabbing my binder. I head to my class when I see someone alone in the class. I take one headphone out my ear and approach her.
"Hey, why are you alone?" I ask but I gasp when she turns around.
"Brittney?" I ask.
"Ella? I haven't seen you all summer." She says looking down, letting her hair fall in front of her face.
"Why aren't you with Lola and Bradly hanging out?" I ask, sitting beside her.
"Didn't you hear?" She asks. I shake my head no. She sighs before continuing.
"Over the summer, Brady cheated on me with that whore Lola. He dumped my halfway through the summer." She tells me, her eyes blazing with anger.
"I'm sorry." I tell her, being sincere.
"Now my turn to ask you something." She says. I nod letting her continue.
"I heard you tried killing yourself in the bathroom yesterday. Is it true?" She says, looking sad for me.
"Yeah. Me and Jeremy, my boyrfri- ex boyfriend, we grew close over the summer, then he shows up and not even three minutes of being on school grounds and him and Lola are flirting. I saved his live this summer, then he does this making me almost end mine. She also stole my best friend. But when I woke up yesterday, I asked my friend and turns out she didn't steal my best friend. But I had to make the mistake of signing up for cheer leading, all the sports teams, and musical theater." I tell her, looking at her.
"Why is it a mistake?" She asks, tilting her head to the side.
"Well Lola is head cheerleader, I have no friends on the sports team, and my ex gave me the confidence to sing in front of people." I tell her, realizing how big of mistake that was.
"Well, I was head captain last year, I could help you learn to cheer if you want?" She offers. I look up at her with wide eyes.
"You would do that?!" I ask relief in my voice.
"Yeah, why not?" She says, brushing it off.
"If you want, you can hang out with me and my friends." I offer. I see her perk up at that. The bell rings and I see my friend come in. I wave Nate and Tally over but I don't spare a glance at Jeremy. Moments later he comes in with Lola around his arm and an angry looking Bradly coming in behind them. Lola is wearing her famous smirk and Jeremy is looking around the room. When his eyes land on me, they soften and he mouths 'sorry' to me. I see Tally watch me, looking at what I will do next. I walk up to them, stopping them in their spots.
