I wake up to Treasure by Bruno Mars on this sunny day. I roll over and swing my legs out of bed and stretch. I listen to the birds chirping on this beautifully fall day. But it's not all that great. Today is the first day back to school. Usually I would be depressed and sad but today is the day I get to see my friends from camp! They would be taking the bus, along with the rest of the campers, to my school. I jump out of bed and rush to be bathroom to get ready. I take a quick shower, shave, and wash my hair. Once that is all done, I wrap a towel around my body and dry my hair with another towel. I open my bathroom door, letting the steam rush out into my room. I walk over to my closet, select some underwear and a bra, slip them on and look for clothes to wear.
I look over my clothes, deciding if I should do my normal look or the look I had at camp? Should I blend in or stand out? I decide to stand out this year. I select my splatter paint black short shorts, a neon green off the shoulder crop top. I figure that the color will look perfect with my tan skin. A few days after camp I decided to get a piercing. Now, I have a forest green nose stud shining on my nose. My dad suggested getting my belly button pierced and since I figure I had nothing to lose, I did. Now, a black and green banana stud is on my flat, tanned stomach. I dry my hair and run a straightener over it just to take the waves out of it. Once that is done, I spray anti-static spray over my dirty blonde hair, due to the sun bleaching it. I put a little bit of mascara on my already long and dark eyelashes. I look at my fake glasses that are on my dresser, starting at me, daring me to wear them and continue being a nobody at school. I shake my head and think to myself 'this year is going to be different. Year eleven I was a nobody. Year twelve I will be somebody.'
I walk downstairs after lacing up my purple high tops.
"Morning daddy!" I great my dad who is currently making pancakes.
"Hey doll, how was you sleep?" He asks while handing me a plate of perfectly brown pancakes. I put peanut butter on them then cut them up, drizzling syrup on them before devouring them.
"It was as good as it could be, considering today I have school." I say biting in another piece of pancake. By now it is 8:00.
"I gotta go dad. Is it okay if I bring my friends home after school?" I ask while putting my lunch in my bag.
"Oh yeah! But can you introduce Kaleb to your friends? His parents say he has trouble making friends." He says while walking me to the door.
"Sure, I guess." I say while opening the door. I turn and give him a hub before walking out the door. I shut the door and reach into my bag retrieving my iPod and phone. I slide my phone into my back pocket and put my head phones in my ears. I blast my favorite play list on the way to school. It is only a 20 min walk but it is a nice walk.
When I reach the school grounds I slow down. I take my time walking to the opening of the fence. I see all the 'cool kids' at the front talking to each other. I start walking towards the front of the school when all Th talking stops. I turn looking at what caused their sudden silence. I see a black bus pulling into the parking lot. It slows down and stops in front of the school and opens its doors. Then the kids start coming out. First is Lucas. He looks around and when he spots me he walks right up to me and gives me a hug.
"How have you been?" He asks when we pull away. I look around at all the people staring at us. Obviously, the girls are glaring at me and having looks of lust in their eyes when looking at him. The guys are sizing him up, deciding if he is a threat to them. By now, half the bus is unloaded and they all walk over and give me a quick hug and hello. I stretch to see the bus doors now. Finally, the three people I want to see are there. I push through the crowd and watch as they look for me. Jeremy is the first to spot me. He rushes towards me and scoops me up in his arms, spinning me around. When he puts me down, I am attacked by Tally and Nate.
