I quickly make my way home and drop my stuff at the door before making my way to the kitchen, on a search for food.
I end up eating a drumstick ice cream cone while watching some re-run of Arrow. Not ten seconds after I sit down does the front door burst open and in walks Tally and Nate.
"Come on in, in fact have a seat." I tell them rolling my eyes, my attention going back to the screen. They huff and walk in line of the TV. I groan and shut it off, knowing once they start they won't stop till they want to.
"How may I help you?" I ask, sitting up, finishing off my ice cream.
"Oh you know, I want to see your yearbook, maybe take a selfie of us before the summer, oh! I know, why the fuck did you say you aren't coming to camp?!" Tally explodes. I see Nate put his hands on her shoulders and makes her sit down. He sits on the other side of me and takes my hand in his, while reaching across me with his other and grabbing Tally's.
"We just wanna know why you said you aren't coming back to camp." He says, concern standing out in his bright blue eyes. I scoff and rip my hand from his, while saying.
"Why do you think? Right as me and Jeremy were able to be in the same room as each other, that whore comes alone all up on his back and ruins the moment. I fully planned on going back to camp till she said she is." I say angrily standing up to put the wrapper of my treat in the trash.
Shutting the door to the trash can I take a deep breath, trying to calm myself before returning to our conversation.
"Look, I don't want to deal with her anymore. Plus my dad already signed me up for a different camp. He doesn't want a repeat of what happened at the beginning of the year.... It's a camp for troubled kids." I say, playing with my fingers in my lap. I look up after a few moments of silence.
They are just looking at each other with a look of guilt.
"Look Ella,-" Tally starts to say but I cut her off by raising my hand.
"Don't. You didn't know, it's fine. I should have told you earlier but I didn't." I tell them, looking between the both of them.
"So you aren't coming to camp this summer? It's just this summer right?" Tally asks, a sudden light of hope in her eyes I hate to crush.
"It depends on how I am after the summer. If I get better to their standards I will be free to do what I please, but is I'm not up to the standards I have to go back." i say, looking down in shame.
"Wait, if it's for troubled kids, why are you going?" Nate asks.
"I haven't told you things. Before I went to the camp I used to steal stuff in the summer or break stuff and it wasn't a pretty sights. I got kicked out of every camp that my dad sent me to. This camp with help get those things whipped from my record. And if I don't go I have to go to, uh, a Juvenal Detention Center." I tell them with great struggle.
I look down in shame when I feel two pairs of arms wrap around me from ether side.
I sit there and let them hug me. After a few moments of being in their embrace I shrug them off and lead them to the door.
"We have to talk all summer!" Tally says while we stand by the door.
"Can't. No access to the outside world other then letters." I say, twisting the door knob, opening the door.
"Then write letters to us!" Nate adds.
Laughing I reply with "I already have the address for the camp."
"Will you see us before you go? Or we go??" They ask as I walk them down the driveway.
"I'll try to see you before you leave. I'll meet you at the bus tomorrow morning to say goodbye." I tell them as I give them each a hug and wave as they get into their car to leave.
