I nod my head, with a silent reply as I try and process what we just overheard. There was a different reason why he left? He told everyone his parents got promoted and had to move to get the better job. She has to be lying. I am fighting an internal battle when I hear a throat being cleared behind me, snapping me out of my thoughts. I turn in my seat to face a flustered Jeremy.

"Can we talk?" He says, running a hand through his already messy hair. I nod and stand up, following him out the door.

"Cover for us or something." I say before I walk out the door. Tally nods her head with a sympathetic look on her face. I follow Jeremy out into the hall and into an empty classroom. He sits on one of the desks and buries his face in his hands with a sigh. I walk over and lightly put my hand on his shoulder in a comforting manor. He jumps slightly before relaxing into my touch. I take a chance and wrap my arms around him, embracing him and trying to relax him to the point of where he can talk.

"Look, I know I messed up badly and I will never be able to make it up to you but please. I know what I did was wrong to do that to you but seeing Lola, brought back all the memories we made while at  camp. I was young and in love with her when she was at camp. After she left I was heart broken. Then all the stuff with J.J happened and I couldn't take it. She threatened me that she would tell the whole school I was a killer and a freak if I didn't date her. If you can give me a second chance I would take it in a heartbeat." He tells me. It gets to quiet after his rant due to me still processing it.

"I can't forgive you. You drove me to the point of suicide just by being with her. I can't have you in my life. You're toxic to me. I guess you would rather have people think I'm the freak instead right? Since you're new and a jock you can't be a freak but I already was so it wouldn't make a difference." I spit at him, the venom in my voice leaving a bad taste in my mouth.

"Oh. Yeah. You're right. I'm toxic to you. I shouldn't be around you. I have to go." He finished, an empty look in his eyes as he turns and leaves the empty room back to class. I take a deep breath, trying to organize my thoughts before following him out.

"I don't know. I want to but I need time to think things over. You really hurt me Jeremy. you really did." I say, looking him in the eyes, letting my feelings pour out in my words.

Getting back to class I sit down with a shaky breath and give a small smile to Tally before turning in my seat to face the front.

*******************************

Class passes quickly and before I know it I am on my way home. I walk through the school and out one of the back doors and towards the hole in the fence. I don't notice till my song changes that I hear my name being called. I pull my headphones down and see Kaleb walking towards me with a smile on his face. I put my headphones around my neck and wait while he approaches.

"Hey! I haven't seen you since gym. How was your day?" He asks as we start heading to our houses.

"Pretty good and you?" I ask, bumping his shoulder with mine.

"Decent. So is it okay if I still come over for a bit? The 'rents are out and I don't like being alone." He tells me bumping my shoulder.

"Ha ha sure. The gang isn't coming over for a bit anyways, and my dad is also gone for a bit. Maybe we can play video games again?" I say, as we approach my house.

I let us in and lead him downstairs to the game room.  We drop our bags at the door and work on picking a game. When we can't decide on one, we agree on just watching a movie. Being the guest, I let him pick while I get the snacks ready. Once everything is ready we sit and look at the screen. A few minutes in I hear him yawn and put his arm around me. I decide to humor myself and lean into his arm. Halfway through the movie I feel him turn towards me. I turn my head so we are looking at each other.

"Ella, I know you are going through a lot with Jeremy but if it is alright, would you like to go to the movies with me on Saturday?" He asks, looking right into my eyes. I nod my head, a smile spreading across my face. I lean in so our faces are millimeters apart. I look him in the eyes before shutting mine and he closes the gap between us, our lips gently touching.

Kaleb's POV

I see her close her eyes so I take the chance and close the small gap between us. Our lips touch softly at first before she parts them slightly, deepening the kiss. I slide my arm from around her neck to around her waist. Her fingers find their way from going through my hair to the base of my neck, lacing themselves into the hair and the base of my head. I bring my other hand up and cup her cheek softly. I breathe through my nose so the kiss doesn't break within seconds. I break the kiss looking into her blue-green eyes, seeing them filled with happiness. I smile and she returns the smile before placing a gentle kiss on my cheek and snuggling into my side, removing her hand from my hair and placing her hand on my chest and turning back to the movie.

Ella's POV

Sadly, the movie ended and shortly afterwards, Tally and Nate came over. I gave them a quick tour and just like Kaleb, they were astounded by my girl cave. Tally went to the food and Nate actually stumbled on his own feet trying to get to the games. Me and Kaleb just laugh at them while  we sit on the couch, sipping our Dr.Pepper. Once they were over the initial shock we settled down and played some video games. Me and Kaleb were on a team and Tally and Nate were the other team. It is safe to say that Me and Kaleb won. By a lot. It was sad seeing the final tally of deaths. Not long after were started a new movie, the front door opens and my dad calls us up saying he brought pizza. After we all ate I introduced my friends to my dad once again. We all had some ice cream then Tally and Nate had to head back to their guest home. Once they left I told my dad I would walk Kaleb home.

On our walk home I felt good so I laced my fingers into his. He looked at me with a questionable look on his face but I just smiled at him. When we got to his house his parents were still not home but he promised they would be soon. I stood there, my hands intertwined with his, looking him in the eyes before leaning up and bringing my lips to his. It was a short kiss but I felt some dragons flying around in my stomach. When the kiss broke we both wore matching smiles. I kissed his cheek before saying good night and good bye. When I get back home I say good night to my dad and head upstairs to my room before shutting the door and sliding my back on it till I reached the ground. I reach my fingers up, my lips still tingling from the kiss me and Kaleb shared moments ago. I let out a short squeal before rushing to the shower. Once I am out, I blow dry my hair and put my coconut oil in it and on my arms and legs. I change into some shorts and a shirt before crawling into bed. I fell asleep with a smile on my face and already looking forward for the next day.
