I open the message and open the keyboard in the app.
Sure! Right I totally remembered! What time will you be here? I quickly type back. I lock my phone and go back to stirring my noodles that are almost done. My ring tone goes off just as I am straining the noodles in the sink. With a curse under my breath I quickly get the water out of the noodles and put them back in the pot. Once they are all in the pot, I carry it back to the stove and place it on the cold element to the right. I grab the powder packet and empty the contents into the pot. I place it back on the stove and begin to stir in the powder. Once all the noodles are orange I grab a bowl and a fork and scoop some into the bowl before grabbing water from the fridge.
I walk over to the table with my drink and food in one hand and my phone and fork in the other. I sit down and open my phone.
I was thinking we could catch the 6:00 showing of Frozen? He sent.
That sounds great! I type back with my fork hanging out of my mouth. I take it out and put some more food on it. I'm almost done when I get a reply.
In case you didn't know, that's two hours from now. Hahaha see your then ;) He sends back before logging off. My eyes snap to the top of my phone where the time is displayed.
4:00
Shit. He was right. I only have two hours to get ready. I sit there thinking of what I should wear when I get a great idea. I type in a few buttons and hold the phone up to my ear. It rings twice before they pick up.
"Hello?"
"TALLY I NEED YOUR HELP" I yell into the phone.
" Woah. Slow down. What's going on?'
"Ikindofhaveadateintwohoursanddon'tknowwhattowear" I say in one big breath.
"Say that one more time but slower" She laughs into the phone.
"I kind of have a date in two hours and don't know what to wear" I say slower this time. I don't hear anything for a few seconds.
"I'll be right over." I hear before she hangs up and I'm greeted by the dial tone. I sigh and end my side of the call before standing and walking over to the dishwasher.
I place by bowl and fork in the right spots and shut the door with my hip. I sit on the counter and start playing on my phone. About two minutes after I start playing Flappy Potato, the door bell rings. I hop off the counter and head over to the door.
I open it to see a frazzled Tally.
""Tell...... Me.... Every...Thing... " She says between pants. I drag her inside towards the kitchen. I open the fridge and grab a water bottle for her. I open it and hand it to her. She nods her head before taking a long sip.
"I ran all the way here. Now. Who are you going out with, where, and when." She asks.
"Kaleb, the movies, tonight." I say. She just shakes her head at me. I shrug my shoulders and laugh.
The exchange between these two is basically every conversation between me and my friend Taylor, and has happened but without the running.
