"Ella? Is that you?" I hear Tally yell from the bathroom. After we left the Dinning hall I went to the medi-trailer to get my sling off. The nurse gave me a look and said 'Now don't you be going and hurting yourself again sweetie, I saw some guys looking at you and we don't want them not being able to win your heart now do we?" As she was saying that I felt a blush rise from my neck to my face.
"Ella? Is that you?" I hear Tally yell a second time from the bathroom.
"Yeah it's me" I yell back. I sit on my bed in the corner and fall on my back sighing deeply. Tally comes out from the bathroom putting an earring in her ear.
"Oh no Missy, you are going to get ready and I'm doing your hair and makeup." I just got on her good side and don't feel like going back to her bad side. Reluctantly I sit up and go over to her. She looks through her mini closet. When she finds what she is looking for she goes and puts it in the bathroom.
"Okay so here is the deal. I am going to do your hair and makeup then we are going to put your dress on but you are not going to be able to see any of it till we are done." I look around at the rest of the girls in the room with us.
"Okay girls. Go and get ready but me and Ella get the bathroom." Tally pushes me across the threshold of the bathroom and sits me down on the bar stool in front of the mirror. i get one glimpse of myself before she spins me away from it.
"So I'm starting with your hair then your makeup. Kai?"
"Uh..Um...Okay?" I reply.
"Great!" She claps her hands pleased with my answer.
Oh gosh. I think to myself. What did I get myself into?
I let Tally work her magic. I close my eyes and listen to her spray stuff on a brush and brushes my hair or runs something hot over my hair. She then does my makeup. It reminds me of a moment before my Mother got sick.
+++++++++++++FLASHBACK++++++++++++++
"Mommy?" My four year old self asks in a little kid voice.
"Yes sweet heart?" My mother asks. My mother was beautiful. She had long Brown hair like mine. Hers had natural waves like the beach. Everyone wanted to know how she got it like that, but when she said she did nothing but let it dry on its own, nobody believed her.
"Can you do my makeup?" I ask
"Of course! I would love to!" She exclaims. She lifts me up by my arm pits and places me on her stool in front of her make up table. She pulls out some eye shadow and a brush along with some blush and lip gloss. She puts the blush on with a very fluffy and puffy brush. It tickles my cheek. I let out a cute giggle. Next she tells me to close my eyes. She puts on a violet shade of purple on, and finishes off with some lip gloss.
"Mommy?" My younger self asks.
"Yes my little cherry blossom?" She replies sweetly.
"When I grow up will I be as pretty as you?" I ask with as much seriousness as a four year old can muster up.
"Sweet heart" My mom says kneeling down in front of me "I know for a fact that you will be even prettier then mommy."
"Will I also have a love like you and daddy do??" I ask
"Yes baby. I know you will. Now lets go and show daddy how pretty you look" She takes my hand and leads me out of her room. Little did we know not even six years later I would be saying good-bye to my mom. My mom dies when I was ten, leaving me with my father and then later my step monster.
+++++++++++++END OF FLASHBACK+++++++++++++
"Ella?" Tally asks.
"Wha?
"You kinda zoned out there. Come on, we have to get you in your outfit." Oh right. the best part I think my voice inside my head dripping sarcasm. I step into the little changing room area with Tally.
"I'm only here to make sure you don't peak. so I'll turn around then you cover your eyes okay?" I shrug in reply and she turns around while i strip down. I tell her I'm ready and she pulls some fabric over me. Tally tells me to lift my hair so she can tie the strings. I do as she says. The fabric feels soft on my skin. Before I came to get ready I put on a purple and black lacy bra and a red thong. Don't ask. I find them comfortable. Deal with it. I let my hair go and Tally fixes it so it falls perfectly down my shoulders. She then hands me a pair of shoes to wear. She hands them to me. They feel like short wedges. When they are on Tally spins the mirror to show me What I look like. I gasp at how I look.
"Tally...."
