CASSANDRA'S POV:
Ethan was willing to drive me to Philadelphia. Why? I don't know. His car was quite spacious, we rolled the windows down since it was quite hot today. We weren't really talking much, we ocassionally had accidental eye contact which caused us to both look away straight after.
The radio was playing throughout the journey. The song 'Beautiful girls' came on and I began to move my head to the beat and mouth the lyrics, I didn't even realise I was doing this until I heard Ethan chuckle.
"You like this song yeah?" He smirked as he turned it up, he began to move his head to the beat as well.
It was the only time I've actually had some fun rather than always being chased and feeling scared. I hadn't laughed in forever.
Once the song ended, Ethan turned the radio back down and we pulled into a gas station.
"I'll be right back." He said before leaving the car to fill up the tank.
I watched him concentrate on putting a certain amount of gas in his car. He frowned slightly while focusing. It was cute.
He disappeared into the gas station to pay. I was left alone in the car. I scanned around to check that there was no one suspicious around, I was constantly paranoid.
Surprisingly Ethan didn't take long, he got back into the car and handed me a bottle of water, he also had one for himself.
"Thanks." I smiled at him.
"So. Your blood is purple. Can you fly?" Ethan raised an eyebrow at me.
"No!" I laughed at him, he hasn't started the car yet.
"Well that sucks." Ethan laughed in return.
"If I could fly do you really think I would be in this car with you right now?" I rolled my eyes at him while smiling.
"Then I'm glad you can't fly." He shrugged. I looked at him, slightly shocked.
"Why?" I almost whispered.
"I don't have anything better to do on a Sunday. This is a good time consumer." Ethan started the car engine.
My heart sunk. I don't know why. I think I was hoping for a different answer. It's good that he said that, because I don't want to like him. I'll never see him again after this car journey.
I noticed someone stood by the door of the gas station, he was staring straight at me. I froze, watching him carefully. His eyes looked serious and full of hate.
"Ethan." I whispered, being more scared than I should be.
"Yeah?" He looked towards me.
"Let's go. Quick." I commanded, keeping my head down and pulling my hood more to cover my face.
Ethan looked up and saw the guy, he immediately pushed the pedal and we joined back with the road.
"What do we do? He's seen the car." I began to panic.
"Okay, calm down. Maybe he was just sketchy." Ethan gripped the steering wheel as I shook my head at him.
"I doubt that." I sigh.
"Let's talk about something else." Ethan shrugged, trying to divert my mind. "What do you like to do?" He asked.
"What do you mean?" I tried to focus on his question.
"Like... I enjoy skateboarding, and playing the drums." He gave me examples.
"Oh." I frowned, realising I haven't done anything but run away for the last 3 years.
