CASSANDRA'S POV:

As we continued to drive, I began to get more and more excited about having a normal life. However, I still kept looking behind us to check that we weren't being followed.

"How do you even know which way to go?" I frowned, realising there was no map or navigation system.

"I just follow signs." Ethan shrugged. "Do you know where in Toronto, the antidote is?" He asked.

"No..." I winced. "Hang on I'll find out." I nodded as I got my shitty flip phone out. Since Jay had taken my old one, I had taken another one from the shop when we went to buy new clothes to get out of our ripped ones. Luckily, I knew the only important number off by heart.

To 'A':
Send me the address of the antidote please, it's C, other phone got taken.

From 'A':
Sure. Are you safe? Where are you now?

To 'A':
I'm close to Toronto. Right now I'm safe.

From 'A':
How did you get there so fast?

To 'A':
I've had some help.

From 'A':
Who?

To 'A':
Someone.

From 'A':
Don't trust anyone C, don't get attached to whoever it is. Sending the address now.

To 'A':
I know.

I knew that I was already attached. I knew that I already trusted Ethan. I couldn't help it. Was this love?

My phone vibrated, signalling that the address had been sent. I opened the message to view it.

"Got it." I slightly smiled.

"Let's see." Ethan nodded. I held up my phone for him to see, he glanced at it inbetween watching the road. "47 Gizmo road. No idea where that is." He chuckled.

"We'll find it." I nodded.

"We will." He smiled. "So, who got the address?" Ethan asked.

"A family friend." I shrugged.

"Sorry, I didn't mean to be nosy." Ethan frowned.

"No it's fine. He's called Alex, we grew up together. He was the only one who knew about my blood apart from my parents." I explained.

"How did he find out the location for the antidote?" Ethan asked.

"He's incredibly smart, he hacks into loads of computer systems and shit." I said, looking out the window.

"Wow that's pretty impressive." Ethan chuckled genuinely.

Suddenly, I began to feel lightheaded. My head ached, I could feel the throbbing sensation compressing my temples. I winced as the pain ocurred. I rested my head back onto the headrest and my body tensed up. Now my whole body was throbbing, I had no idea what was happening.

ETHAN'S POV:

As we drove, I noticed Cassie was quiet. Normally we always had flowing conversations that never end. When I glanced over at her, she had her eyes squeezed shut. She looked like she was in agony.

"Cass are you okay?" I asked her. She didn't answer me. "Cassie." I placed one hand on hers and was surprised by her body temperature. "You're boiling!" I raised my eyebrows.

"It's hurting." She winced.

"It? What's 'it'? What's hurting?" I tried to get more information.

"Everything." Cassie groaned.

"Okay, what should I do? What do you want me to do?" I kept looking towards her while driving. I was starting to panic.

"I don't know." She said through gritted teeth.

"Should I pull over?" I asked. When she didn't answer, I answered for her. "I'll pull over."

I pulled over as soon as possible, it was on a desert road with no cars coming by. The only thing that we could see on this road was a small gas station that was up a little bit further.

As soon as the truck came to a stop I turned myself to Cassie, she had sweat beads across her forehead and her eyes were still squeezed shut. She was holding her stomach and her legs were shaking.

"I don't know what's happening to me." She whimpered.

Before I could answer her body suddenly jerked in her seat and she began to scream out in pain, I placed my hand on her shaking leg even though it didn't do much.

"What do I do? How can I help you?" I asked in between her screams. I hated seeing her in pain.

"I want to get out of the truck." She tried to contain her yelps of pain.

Without thinking twice, I jumped out of the driver's side and hurried around to her side. I opened her door and undid her seatbelt. I slowly picked her up, bridal style, not knowing what else to do. She squirmed with pain in my arms.

I could feel her body temperature had risen when her hand made contact with the back of my neck. I placed her down on her feet, she was still holding on to me for support, her whole body shivering.

Cassie's knees began to give in, so I slowly bent down with her until her knees touched the floor. I stayed on the floor with her, she was burying her face into my neck and holding onto my arm. Hearing her cries of pain made my heart shatter.

"Cassie it's okay. You'll be okay. Squeeze my arm so the pain will be less." I ran my thumb down her cheek, trying to offer what ever suggestion I had.

"Ethan I want it to stop." She said, barely audible.

I kissed the top of her head as I held her tightly. She looked up at me, her face was red but now her expression was blank.

"Your eyes, they're purple again." I stared at her glowing eyes.

"Get away from me." She breathed out.

"What?" I searched her face for any indication of what she meant.

"Quick." She gently pushed me.

As much as I didn't want to leave her side, I reluctantly got up and stepped away from her. Suddenly, her whole body had a glowing purple outline. I stared in awe. I could feel the wind around me get stronger as the glow around Cassie got brighter.
