ETHAN'S POV:

"How badly does it hurt?" I asked her, watching her wince in pain.

"It'll probably go away soon." Cassie tried to act like it wasn't hurting her. "Let's find a way out of here." She started to walk through the room that we were in.

I followed her, admiring all the old, dusty furniture that was abandoned in here. We walked down the creaky hallway, avoiding bits of debris that were scattered on the floor.

We reached the front door and I tried to open it, but it was jammed shut. I sighed as hit my forehead on it a few times.

"Let's use the window." Cassie shrugged, standing by a window that had no glass in it.

"That's a good idea. Why didn't I think of that?" I chuckled.

"Because you went straight to a door, you're too mainstream." Cassie smirked at me before she disappeared out the window.

I grinned at her subtle insult and climbed out the window after her. It took us out to a main road. The dark night sky matched our black outfits, the only light was signs from stores.

"How are we going to find your car?" Cassie looked around, trying to work out where we are.

"I guess we follow the stores." I shrugged.

Cassie began to walk in front of me, with me closely behind. Even the way she walked made my stomach tingle. I had a really strong urge to kiss her again. Missing the feeling of her lips against mine. But first we needed to get off of the streets and out of the open.

So instead I held my hand out in front of me and slipped my hand into hers. She turned her head around and smiled at me. I brought her hand up to my lips and kissed her knuckles gently.

She carried on walking in front of me, our hands still attached. (Picture at the top). I started to recognise some of the stores on the street that we were on.

We walked through the centre, where it was once tightly packed. Now there were only a few people here. We made our way to where I had lazily parked the car so we could jump out earlier.

"How is your car still here?" Cassie frowned.

"I don't know, maybe they didn't see it." I raised my eyebrows as we got in.

The car was warm inside, it was nice because the night was quite cold and bitter. I rubbed my hands together before I started the car.

"We should probably get a hotel room for the night, then tomorrow we can start driving to Toronto." I nodded as the car cruised down the street.

"Ethan you-"

"I'm not going home Cass, I'm staying with you." I interrupted her. There was a short silence.

"I was actually going to say, that you don't have to spend your money on a hotel room." Cassie smiled at me.

"Oh." I chuckled. "Well it's my money and I choose what things I want to spend it on. And a room for a night is one of them." I clarified. We drove for a bit before I put my hand on Cassie's thigh while driving. My feelings for her were solid, I could tell you that.

We pulled in to a B&B, it had vines creeping up the walls which made it look quite pretty. I parked the car in an empty space and we got out. I hope they have a free room here.

Once we entered we saw a small reception area, it was scattered with potted plants and still life paintings on the wall. There was a desk that had a folder and a few papers on it. On one side of the desk was a closed door, on the other side of the desk there was a sign on the wall next to a electronic doorbell, the sign said 'Ring the bell for service'. Cassie pressed the bell but we didn't hear any sound. We frowned at each other.

Just as Cassie was about to press it again, we heard footsteps from above us. Suddenly the door that was by the desk was being unlocked, the sound of keys rattling on the other side. Once the door opened we were greeted by a middle aged woman with auburn hair.

"Hi sorry, I was giving the dog a bath." The woman gave us a warming smile.

"It's okay, we were wondering if you have a spare room for tonight." I pressed my lips together in hope.

"Oh um, I'll just check, I'll be right back." She nodded and disappeared back through the door.

The clock in the room started to play a tune signalling that the time was now 10pm. I felt Cassie rest her head on my shoulder, I could tell she was tired. Soon the the woman joined us back in the room.

"I'm sorry but I don't have any unoccupied bedrooms." She sighed sympathetically.

"Oh it's okay, thank you anyway." Cassie smiled as we turned around to leave.

"Wait, how old are you two?" The woman stopped us.

"16." I nodded.

"Don't you have anywhere else to stay?" She asked us as we shook our heads casually. She sighed. "There's a double bed in the attic that you could use, that's if you two are okay with sleeping in the same bed." The woman said as she picked up her keys while we nodded.

"Thank you." Cassie sighed in relief.

"Of course it won't cost as much as a normal room, and I'm afraid the heating doesn't work up there but there are extra blankets in the cupboard." She explained as she led us through the door.

Once we were through the door there was stairs leading up to the rest of the house. We continued up 3 more flights of stairs. Dang this house was big. We walked up the final flight of stairs, the creakiest and steepiest one out of them all.

The woman opened the door to the attic room, as soon as she opened it a gust of cold air hit us, making us shiver slightly.

What did you think of Chapter Seven? I think that Cassie and Ethan are lowkey s'cute.

PEACE!✌
