ETHAN'S POV:

The bang was sudden. I could see the entrance doors had pressure on them from the other side. Someone was trying to get in. Both me and Cassie slowly walked backwards.

"Shit, they're here." Cassie cursed.

"What? How did they find us?" I raised my eyebrows.

"I don't know. Run." She shook her head.

As we turned around and started to run, we could hear the doors being burst open. I looked behind us and saw the military running towards us, some of them holding tazers.

Cassie and I skidded around the corner into a separate room. We ignored all the irrelevant furniture and it's surprisingly tidy arrangement.

I saw a gap in between piles of large wooden crates. Cassie saw what I was looking at and slipped through, her back against the wall behind the crates. I followed her into the gap, our bodies pressed up against each other. Since we were wearing black, we pretty much blended in with the shadows.

Soon, the herd of military men marched past quickly. They probably had patrols at the entrance and exits so we couldn't escape the building.

"For the military, they're not very smart." I scoffed quietly.

"Thank God for that." Cassie sighed. "All we need to do is find an elevator or staircase and get up to the lab, they won't want me after my blood is normal." She frowned.

"Should we go now?" I whispered.

"Well, I was quite enjoying being this close to you but yeah sure." She smirked.

"I can't believe you're flirting with me right now." I chuckled.

"Come on, let's go." Cassie smiled and slowly edged out of the gap, I could feel the pressure of her body slide past mine, driving me insane.

We both came out from hiding and crept around, making sure to check every corner for the military before making ourselves visible. Thankfully we found an elevator, we sighed in relief before pressing the button to summon it.

"I hope it still works." Cassie bit her lip as we waited impatiently.

The elevator beeped and the doors opened, both me and Cassie grinned at each other and silently celebrated with a high five, enterlocking our fingers after. We hopped in and pressed the top floor.

"Labs are normally on the top floor right?" Cassie frowned.

"Well I would think so, if a chemical reaction goes wrong and blows up, it would be easier to evacuate everyone." I shrugged.

"It's so hot when you talk smart Ethan." Cassie said as she moved my head with her hand to face her.

"Well then, on our first proper date I'm going to get all my chemistry books out for you." I joked as I wrapped my arms around her, our eyes staring into one anothers.

"I thought you were going to take me to the fair for our first date." She smiled at me.

"No that's the third one, I've planned other one's before that." I nodded.

"I can't wait." Cassie grinned.

I leaned in and kissed her passionately, not wanting to pull away. I ran my hands up her back and they ended up cupping her face as she held on to my forearms. We didn't notice that the elevator had stopped and the doors had opened, they soon closed as we didn't attempt to get out.

"Let's carry this on later, when we're not busy." Cassie giggled against my lips.

"Deal." I nodded.
