ETHAN'S POV:
I started to retrace my steps, keeping my eyes out for a girl dressed in all black. I spotted many people dressed in black. Why is black clothing so popular dammit!?
I've lost her. How? She was right behind me. I spun around on the spot, looking for her in every direction.
Suddenly I felt someone grab onto my arm and pull me towards them. Thanks to my reflexes I spun around and grabbed onto the arm of whoever was pulling me.
I glanced at who it was. It was Cassie, she looked terrified and pale.
"Oh my Gosh." I breathed out, still holding onto her arm. Using her arm, I pulled her towards me and hugged her tightly. "Thank fuck." I sighed.
"What do we do now?" Her muffled voice said into my shoulder.
We withdrawed from the hug and looked around, trying to see over the people. I spotted some steps that probably lead down to an underground subway or something.
"Let's go down there. If we wait long enough then maybe they'll leave." I shrugged, settling for any idea right now. I looked down at my light blue tank top. "I should probably get something black." I looked at Cassie as she nodded.
We walked into the nearest clothes shop, constantly looking around us to make sure we weren't being followed. The employees were giving us dirty looks. I purchased a black hoodie and put it on over my tank top. I put my hood up to match Cassie and then we walked out of the shop and headed to the steps.
"I feel like a badass with my hood up." I nodded and raised my eyebrows in approval. Cassie shook her head as we hopped down the subway stairs.
Once we were stood on the platform it got colder, there was no sunlight underground. Only artificial lights. We sat down on a wooden bench, there was no one down here apart from us.
"How long do you think we should wait?" I asked, leaning back on the bench.
"I have no idea. Maybe an hour?" She shrugged. "What if they come down here?" She turned her head to look at me.
"Then..." I look around, trying to figure out a back up plan. "I, I don't know." I sighed.
"They wouldn't right?" She frowned sadly, wanting me to say no.
"I hope not. They didn't see us run into the crowd." I shrugged.
She took a deep breath out and looked straight ahead. I turned my head to look at her, she was heavy breathing and her leg was shaking frantically. I didn't want her to panic. Her hand was resting on the bench as she rocked back and forth.
I gained some balls and slid my hand over hers, interlacing some of our fingers together. (Picture at the top.) She looked down at our connected hands and then looked up at me.
"It'll be okay." I raised my eyebrows.
"Ethan, I don't want to die. I just want to be normal." She shook her head at me.
"You're not going to die." I turned my body towards her, our hands still interlocked.
"What are you feeling?" She said suddenly, turning her body towards me.
"What do you mean?" I frowned.
"You said earlier, that I made you feel things. What are they?" She smiled.
"Um well, the thing is, I'm- I'm not actually sure yet. I just know that when I'm with you, it feels right. I don't know why." I mumbled, embarrassed. It sounded like something a 10 year old would say.
"Ethan if you're unsure then why are you going through with this? Go home, to your family. They're probably worried." Cassie let go off my hand, leaving it with a tingling sensation.
I pulled my phone out of my pocket and saw that I had some missed calls from my mom. I swallowed, imagining how mad she probably is right now. I looked up at Cassie who was staring at the floor, she was squeezing her hands together, rubbing her knuckles. I couldn't abandon her.
I couldn't work out why I was so committed to staying with her. But I had a good way to find out, even if it didn't work. I turned my phone off and put it back in my pocket.
I held my hand up to reach for Cassie's face. I held on to her jaw and turned her face towards me, her eyes fixed themselves onto mine. She was shocked. Without any hesitation I pressed my lips on hers. I expected her to push away but she didn't.
After a couple seconds of contact, I was going to pull away but I realised that I didn't want to. I latched on to her bottom lip instead, deepening the kiss. To my surprise she began to kiss back. She pulled me closer to her using the collar of my hoodie. Our mouths moved slowly, I could feel her sucking on my top lip which made me shiver with pleasure.
We pulled back slightly, letting our lips graze each other before we pulled away completely. Once we opened our eyes, we could see how much closer we were than before.
"I think I know what the feeling is now." I gulped.
"What?" She bit her lip.
"I think I have a slight crush on you." I pressed my lips together as she smirked. "Well actually, I think it's more than slight." I said as I felt her hand over mine. I looked down as she interlocked our fingers, like how I did with hers earlier.
I had fallen for a supernatural teenage girl that I met on the street almost 24 hours ago. This will be great to tell my future kids.
All of a sudden, a mass of footsteps ran down the stairs, we saw men dressed in camo running towards us. Me and Cassie immediately jumped up and began to run down the platform. Jumping over no entry signs.
"Stop! You have nowhere to run!" A man's booming voice echoed from behind us.
"We don't have anywhere to go!" Cassie said to me, panting.
We continued to run, our legs were tired. The men were still in sight, even though they were quite far away. I could make out that one of them had a small pistol. My stomach clenched. I wasn't going to tell Cassie that.
Eventually, we turned a corner on the platform and saw an option to run up the stairs or continue to run round another corner. Cassie grabbed my wrist and pulled me up the stairs, no time for thinking.
OOOOHH #CethanFirstKiss make this hashtag popular on instagram.😂 But yeah what's more romantic than sitting in a subway and having a make out sess? Nothing? I know. Oh btw, the black hoodie that Ethan bought is the black hoodie in the cover of the book. (So creative I know).
P.s I couldn't wait any longer, I wanted them to kiss okay... sue me.
P.p.s Thanks Tori for editing the chapter photo, ly x x x
