"So are you going to ask her or not?" Romeo asked. Eric thought about it before an evil grin spread across his face.
"I will," He paused for dramatic effect. "If you ask Jules to dance." He put emphasis on the word 'if'.
Romeo sighed. "You know that she'll say no."
"But what if she doesn't?" Eric smiled.
"She will."
"But what if she doesn't." Eric repeated.
"Then that would be awesome but she won't." Romeo admitted.
"You don't ask her and I won't ask Emily." Eric smirked.
It was Romeo's turn to admit defeat. "Fine I will, but that doesn't mean she'll say yes."
"It's just one dance. She might." Eric tried to be optimistic for his friend.
The two walked over to their table, where Juliet and Mark were hanging out.
Eric winked at Romeo real quick. "Jules, can I have my game back now?"
"Nope," She told him.
Eric pretended to be surprised. "What? Why not?"
"It's for your own good. You need to take a break, a long break, from playing. Why don't you ask Emily to dance?" Julie told him, her eyes fixed on the screen.
Eric whined, continuing to act out his part. "Oh come on, Jules! Please! It's not like you're being social either."
"Stop whining, Eric. It's for your own good." Julie told him. Romeo was trying to keep a straight face as Eric pretended to be annoyed. He caught Mark's eye and suddenly Mark understood and was in on it too.
"Fine, I'll ask Emily to dance with me... But only if you give up the game. Let Mark play for a while." Eric said.
"Wha- Fine." Julie sighed and saved the game handing it over to Mark. Eric gave his two guy friends a wink as he walked over to the girl he liked.
They couldn't hear what he was saying but they already knew what it was. They could see Emily nod her head happily and Eric pull her on to the dance floor. Halfway across the room they saw Eric quickly mouth 'your turn' to Romeo. Julie didn't see this though.
She stood up from the table. Romeo was about to open his mouth to speak when Julie spoke up.
"I'll be right back." She said before she headed in the direction of the bathroom. Romeo sighed, something he had been doing a lot that night.
"Just be patient. She'll come back." Mark told him. He smiled at his friend, hopefully. Seriously when were those two actually going to straighten things out and get together already?
"I know. It just gives me more time to be nervous," Romeo admitted. He realized what he said and tried to recover. "I mean I'm not nervous. Pfft, I'm cool. I don't get nervous." Romeo put his cocky and cool act on. Mark rolled his eyes. Romeo mentally face palmed for what he had said.
It was only a couple minutes later that Julie came back. She leaned over to see how well Mark was doing at the game he was playing. It was surprisingly well since he had barely been paying attention.
