"Hey, Ivy?" Romeo slid into his usual seat at the lunch table. Two regular occupants of table were clearly missing but everyone else seemed to be there. It was lunch time on Wednesday the tenth.
"Yeah, Cameron?" Ivy said not looking up from her peanut butter and jelly sandwich.
"Where's Julie?" He asked.
"Her and Mark are at a dance committee meeting." Eric said through a mouth full of food. Ivy nodded.
"Great, because I want to talk to you about something... Without her here." Romeo told the redhead. She looked curious.
"Okay shoot." She demanded.
"Julie, doesn't talk about her dad. She's mentioned her mom but not her dad. Why's that?" Romeo asked. Ivy was surprised he asked that question.
She sighed. "It's not for me to tell. Let's just say she doesn't get along with her dad very well. That's all I'm going to say about the matter."
Romeo nodded. "I understand." He was still curious though, but he respected Julie's privacy too much to continue on. Clearly it wasn't something she was comfortable with talking about.
"When she's ready she'll tell you." Ivy told him honestly. She had no doubt in her mind that Julie was eventually going to tell Romeo. Ivy knew what was good for her best friend and it was the messy haired, red hoodie wearing boy that was sitting next to Ivy.
Romeo accepted this and they moved on. He was going to find out... When Juliet was ready to tell him.
