Chapter 5 (Shane's P.O.V)

~Shane's P.O.V~

I went to get my bag. "Shane you have English first. Looks like you're in Yasmin's class." Mrs said to me. Who's Yasmin? Nice name but I wanted to be on my own.

"Yasmin wait you have the same lesson as Shane, can you take care of Shane today please?" Mrs asked the girl. So her name's Yasmin. She's pretty, it suited her, I turned so I was facing her.

"Sure Mrs but what about break and lunch?" She asked Mrs. I was planning to hang around on my own.

"It's ok you know I'll be fine at break and lunch." I told her.

"You sure?" She replied looking at me. I saw guilt in her eyes.

"I don't mind." I told her. I was surprised, wondering why she was feeling guilty.

"Yasmin come on." Sasha said from behind her. I looked behind her and saw Luke talking to a group of boys.

"I'm coming. Shane you coming?" She asked looking at me, I was still looking at Luke laughing and smiling with his friends. I wish my life was carefree like that sometimes.

"Yeah." I replied still looking over her shoulder. She turned her head and saw the group of boys. She just ignored them and headed down the corridor. I followed after her.

"How are you finding your first day in school?" She asked me as we walked to lesson, all the girls were staring at me again; I was starting to get a little annoyed. I noticed they were all giving Yasmin death glares. She didn't seem like the type to have enemies. The guys were also giving me death glares.

Yasmin was still waiting for an answer, but I never said anything. We neared the classroom.

"Well just give it time and you'll settle in eventually." She smiled. I smiled back but then looked the other way. Only my mother and brothers made me smile so what was that? "And we're here. I don't think Jake's in today so you can sit in his place. I'll be sitting in front of you if you need anything." She told me putting her bag away.

"And where is that?" I asked looking around the almost empty class.

"Oh, it's right there." She pointed to a desk third row from the front and two rows from the door. I sat down and looked up. Mrs was already looking at me.

"Yasmin who's this?" Mrs asked, but before Yasmin could answer she already figured it out. "Oh you're the new student, welcome to the school. I'm Mrs Jones." She said to me, the rest of the class walked in. I could feel their eyes on me.

"Hey Hollie" Yasmin smiled to the girl sitting next to her. Hollie looked at me then back at Yasmin. I watched as a couple of boys sat on the desk over.

"Ok class turn to page 103 and listen as I read. Shane we're reading a book which we'll be doing an assignment on, after reading the book we're going to watch the movie but just follow where we are for now." Mrs said to the class then looked at me. I just nodded. Mrs talked about what happened from the beginning of the book to where they were now. I turned to page 103. I looked over at Yasmin, she was on page 184 she must have read ahead of the class.

At the end of class, I got my bag and looked around for Yasmin but I couldn't see her. Great she ditched me now how am I going to find maths? I'm ignoring her the next time I see her. I headed for the door and saw her waiting for me with Hollie. Oh, she was waiting for me? I just followed her but stayed quiet the whole time. I put my things away and sat behind Yasmin since it was the only seat free. Yasmin sat next to an Asian boy but said nothing. I noticed there are two boys sitting in front of her and the boy that was sitting on the desk next to me in English was sitting next to me. I stayed quiet.
