Chapter 32: Gold

"We moving in our own house, daddy?", Caeli asked Jackson with excitement.

"Yes baby and today we're going to go shopping to get some stuff for your bedroom," Jackson told her.

"Yay! Can we go now, please daddy?", She asked, hopefully.

"Of course put your shoes on," he told her.

"You comin' mommy?", Caeli asked.

"Of course baby, you need an expert and obviously your daddy can't pick out good furniture," I said, looking around at Caeli's room.

"Hey, all this furniture is antique," he said, offended.

"If you mean ancient and dusty then yes I agree," I said, helping Caeli with her shoes.

"Let's go, let's go," Caeli said, excited. This girl loved shopping.

"Okay sweetheart," Jackson said, picking her up.

"I like this one! I want this one!", Caeli said, jumping on a king-sized bed.

"You're a little too young for that baby. Why don't we go look in the kid's section?", I asked her.

"I'm not a kid, mommy. I'm turning five," she pouted.

"Your still a kid, Caeli. Don't you like being a kid? You get more candy and presents on your birthday. When your older no one cares anymore," Jackson told her.

"I care bout you, daddy,'' Caeli said, giving him a hug.

"I know and I love you Caeli. Now let's go find you a pretty princess bed," Jackson said.

"I get piggy back ride?", Caeli asked.

"Of course," Jackson said, letting her climb into his back.

I just observed the two, a lot was on my mind. The meeting between Engrid and I didn't go well, she was a bitch the entire time. But I did not fight her or curse her out. I just simply ignored her.

I was praying to God, my baby's birthday wouldn't be ruined. It was in about 3 weeks, but Sophie's birthday was on the same day so Engrid would be there. Hopefully she would leave her attitude at home, since it would be her child's birthday.

"I found one! I like this one!", Caeli shouted, drawing attention.

"Use your inside voice, baby," I told her.

"Okay. I like this one," Caeli said, smiling.

"It's a bunk bed sweetheart, you don't need two beds," Jackson told her.

"What about when Sophie come over? Where would Sophie sleep? We need this bed in our life," Caeli said.

"Or mommy could sleep in the other bed when I get scared and have nightmares," Caeli said, trying to persuade him.

"Okay we'll get this one. Do you want your room to be painted just like this model?", He asked her. She nodded her head and Jackson took a picture of it.
