Jackson's P.O.V.

"Daddy, me and Caeli are gonna be late for school!", Sophie pouted as she stormed into the room.

"I'm coming, honey. Make sure ya'll got everything in your backpack," I said as I sat up in bed.

I gazed longingly at Fae's side of the bed. Being without her felt like I was missing a part of my body. Of course, I could adjust to not having her but life was made 10x harder. Fae had been in a coma these past few months and the doctors were losing hope that she would ever wake up. Caeli and Sophie kept asking me when she was coming home, but I didn't have an answer.

Our baby was still growing in her stomach and I was scared that they would have to end up delivering him by cesarean. I always imagined that this pregnancy would go differently. I dreamed of us going shopping for baby clothes and setting up the nursery together, but all of that was put on halt by Dimitri's actions. I should have gotten rid of him before he could reek any havoc in our lives.

Sighing, I put on my shoes and grab my car keys. The girls were waiting by the front door chatting excitingly about what they were gonna do at school.

"Finally, it took you long enough," Caeli said as we walked out the front door.

"You know, I've never met kids so excited to go to school before,'' I told her as I helped her and Sophie in the car. I put them in their car seats and went over to the driver's side.

"Well, our teacher is super cool! She gives us cookies and lets us watch disney movies after we do our work. Today she's going to let us paint pictures. I'm gonna paint one of me, you, Caeli, and mommy," Sophie said.

"That's great, sweetheart," I said smiling at the fact that she called Fae her mother. If I didn't mention already, Engrid was found in a sleazy motel overdosed on cocaine. Shortly after Fae was hospitalized, we had a funeral for Engrid. Sophie wasn't even bothered. She told me she was glad she didn't have to go back to the bad place again. There's no telling what Engrid was doing to Sophie when I wasn't around.

"After school can we stop by the hospital and hang the pictures in mommy's room?," Caeli asked.

"Of course. When mommy wakes up, she's gonna be so happy to see your pictures," I told them, making them smile.

I finally arrived at their school and I walked them to their classroom.

"Bye Dad, we love you," Caeli and Sophie said simultaneously.

"I love you too," I said as I waved goodbye to them.

I started walking to the other end of the packhouse toward the hospital. I made it to Fae's room and sat in the chair next to her bed.

"Is she responsive at all?," I asked Dr. Michael as he came into the room.

"Alpha, she hasn't been responsive in months. The longer she's in this coma, the greater the chance she will become a vegetable,'' Dr. Michael said.

"What are you trying to say?," I asked angrily.

"I think after the baby is ready to be born, we should put her out of her misery. All your time has been invested in the Luna. You still have a pack to run. Your beta can't continue to run things. He's not equipped," Dr. Michael said.

"Your Luna is an essential part to this pack and without her, I am rendered weak," I told him.

"I understand that Alpha, but I feel as if it is better for you to get the pain over now than later. It also increases your chance to find your second chance mate," Dr. Michael said.

"I don't want a second chance mate! I want my Luna. Fae is the only one for me, there is no other. I will not give up hope on her. I understand your concerns about the pack and I will be present more often. It's not easy raising two kids on your own and having a pregnant mate in a coma," I yelled, breaking down in tears.

Dr. Michael looked uncomfortable and lightly patted my back.

"I'm sorry, Alpha. We will continue to try and find a way to help her,'' he said apologetically before he walked out of the room.

"I need you, Fae. Our baby needs you," I said as I touched her stomach," He needs his mother when he's born."

I stayed with her all day and I helped the nurses clean her and change her clothes.

Fae, baby please let me know you're here. Give me a sign," I begged as I kissed her all over her face. After a few minutes, I got up and I was about to leave out the door when I heard a glass shatter against the wall.

"Fae, are you here?," I asked as I grabbed her hand.

"Rescue me...he has me!," Fae cried out before she went back to a comatose state.

"Doctor! I need a doctor in here right now!," I yelled as I kept trying to get Fae to wake up again.

"What happened?," Dr. Michael asked as he rushed in with a team of doctors.

"She woke up and she told me to rescue her and she said 'he has me' ", I told him.

"Well it's good that she woke up. That means she is progressing. You were right," Dr. Michael said as he looked at Fae.

"What do you think she meant by rescue me?," I asked confused.

"Often patients are confused when they wake up from a coma. She is probably still thinking that she is under Dimitri's control," Dr. Michael explained.

"That makes sense. I hope she wakes up again," I said as I rubbed her hand with my thumb.

Fae's P.O.V.

I hoped Jackson got my message and he heard me. I needed to get out of this place. I didn't know how long my body on earth would last.

"Don't you ever escape from me again!", Dimitri yelled as he threw me against the wall.

"I don't wanna be here! Let me go!," I screamed as I struggled from his hold. He threw me against a chair and placed the chair cuffs back on my hands.

"I told you we would be together until the fat lady sings baby! Did you think that by killing me, you would get rid of me baby? I knew what you were gonna do and I had a backup plan. The witch placed another spell on you. Wherever my soul went, your soul had to follow," Dimitri said as he kissed me on the lips.

"Fuck you! I don't belong here. I'm still alive!," I yelled as I struggled against the cuffs.

"For now, you are. Your body is alive, but what is a body without a soul?!", Dimitri laughed sinisterly, "The longer I keep you in hell with me, the greater the chance of death you have."

"I hate you so much!'', I cried, trying to break out the cuffs.

"You'll learn to love me," he laughed as he placed a crown on my head.

"Get used to this life because from now on it's gonna be you and me," He smiled as he wiped the tears off of my face.
