I wake up at 9:50 am, probably missing my dad who's at work. With only ten minutes to get ready, meeting the boys in the driveway seems nearly impossible.
By 10:05 am, I'm finally ready when I hear a car horn outside. I grab my phone and a small purse with my house keys, skipping breakfast entirely. I open the front door to find all the guys waiting, their two vehicles parked in the driveway.
Justin says, "You're late! 10:00 am sharp means 10:00 am, nothing more."
I roll my eyes.
The boys are all dressed similarly in jeans and shirts.
"You'll ride with Carlos, Luke, and me, while Kyle and the evil twins take his vehicle," he adds.
I nod, lock the front door, and head to the car.
********
At the mall, we head straight to the food court since no one has eaten. I order waffles, scrambled eggs, and hot chocolate tea.
Justin gets pancakes and milk, Luke orders scrambled eggs with toast and coffee, Carlos has bacon with a cheese sandwich and orange juice, Kyle opts for toast with butter and orange juice, and the twins choose bacon, cheese, and egg sandwiches with chocolate milk.
"Let's start shopping with dresses, then jeans and tops, then shoes and hair," Luke suggests.
Hair too?
I sigh as the boys pull me into a store, attracting the attention of girls, especially the workers.
I love expensive clothes; if my mom weren't in jail, my closet would be filled with them.
I pick six high-waisted dresses that Justin chose—tight on top and loose at the bottom. They fit perfectly, hugging my curves in blue, pink, purple, white, light green, and light red.
Next, Jordan shops with me in a section filled with miniskirts, short pants, crop tops, strap tops, and tank tops.
"This is what I call clothes," he says.
I try on five miniskirts with matching tank tops; they all fit like a dream. I end up with five miniskirts, seven tank tops, eight crop tops, nine strap tops, and three pairs of short pants.
Carlos drags me to the leather section, where I try on seven leather jeans, six jackets, and three black heels.
"I'm tired. Can we rest now?" I whine.
Kyle responds, "No, it's my turn for shoes, my favorite."
I groan and follow him into the shoe store.
I try on five heels, two heeled boots to match my leather outfits, and three pairs of Converse. Shoe shopping is definitely quicker than clothes.
Jacob helps me pick five fitted dresses for parties before we have lunch at the food court, with the boys carrying my shopping bags.
"What's next?" I ask.
Luke replies, "Hair and nails."
By 2:00 pm, we arrive at the salon.
A lady smiles, "You're just in time for your appointment. Luke, come back in about two hours."
Luke hugs her and leaves. She looks at me and asks, "Do you really need those glasses?"
I take them off, and she smiles, "Sit down; we have much to do."
Two hours later, I barely recognize myself. They didn't use makeup, just styled my hair and waxed my eyebrows. My hair is now curled and reaches the middle of my back. My nails are filed and painted shiny silver. I thank the woman and wait for Luke.
When he arrives, he's speechless.
I smirk, "Done checking me out?"
He blushes.
I walk back to the boys, who all stare at me.
Jordan says, "Hi sexy, want to go on a date with me?"
I laugh. "Not gonna happen, keep dreaming."
"Worth a shot," he sighs.
Justin suggests, "Since we're done, let's chill by Ana's pool."
I nod.
We take a group picture with all seven of us together.

When we get inside my house, Jordan exclaims, "Wow, this is big. Justin, you don't have a big house."
Justin rolls his eyes. "At least I have a hot tub."
I smirk, "Yeah, and I have a theater room with Netflix," making his smile vanish.
I unlock the front door, and the guys drop my bags in my bedroom before heading to the pool while I change into my bikini.
I put on a pink bikini and grab two cases of soda from the fridge for the guys.
Jordan says, "Now this is what I call relaxing on a Saturday evening."
Carlos and Jacob stare at me.
I ask, "You lost something?"
They quickly look away, and I laugh.
I drink three sodas and eat the pizza the boys ordered. Kyle, Luke, and Jacob jump into the pool, and I lean over the edge, holding Justin's hand.
Suddenly, Kyle pulls me into the pool, with the boys falling in behind me. I laugh at Justin's furious expression.
He hisses, "Kyle, you're so dead when I get my hands on you."
I laugh.
"What's going on here?!" someone shouts.
I turn to see my dad with his arms crossed.
Jacob mumbles, "Uh oh."
I smile, "Dad, these are my friends."
He scans the boys, then locks eyes with Luke. "Okay, as long as Luke is with you."
He heads inside.
Justin says, "That was close."
I agree, "Yeah, at least he's not strict with me."
After Mom left, he became kinder and more patient.
