Justin's POV

I'm hanging out by the twin house with Kyle and Carlos at 6:45 pm.

"I'm bored; let's do something," I say.

Jordan suggests, "Let's follow Anne; she has a date with Brandon tonight, remember?"

I smirk, "How about we hit a party and then chill at a park?"

Kyle shrugs, "Sounds good. I'll text Arlene and tell her I'm not coming over."

"You don't have to come with us; stay with her. Her parents aren't home," I reply.

Kyle gets up and leaves immediately.

The others laugh.

Jordan says, "I'm going to change. I'll meet you guys downstairs in ten minutes."

We all leave the game room and head down to the living room.

Carlos says, "I'm so glad Anne is our friend."

"Me too, but she has an issue with Jordan, and I'm not sure why," I respond, which is true. After the truth or dare game, she left after Jordan asked her something, but I can't recall the details.

Carlos sits on the couch and checks his phone.

"So, what's your girlfriend's name?" I ask.

"Natalie. She's a junior, really nice, and on the cheerleading squad. She has a senior friend who wants to meet you," he replies.

"Nah, I'm good. I have enough cheerleaders in my life."

After the party

We arrive at the park, drinking beers. A car pulls up across the road, but it's too dark to see anything.

Jordan says, "Hey Justin, you have to see this; we're getting a free show." I laugh and shake my head.

We sneak to the nearest bushes to watch. The couple is making out, and Jordan and Carlos laugh.

Suddenly, the couple stops and the guy pulls out something that looks like a phone and turns on the flashlight. Oh no.

Jordan panics, "Abort the mission! Repeat, abort mission!" We scramble and run in different directions.

"Who's there?!" the guy shouts.

I dive behind a bench.

The voice sounds like Brandon, and then I hear a familiar voice, "Who's there, Brandy?"

Brandy? Only Ana calls Brandon that. Uh oh, we're in trouble.

Anastasia's POV

We stop making out as Brandon takes out his phone and turns on the flashlight, walking toward the bushes.

"Who's there?!" he shouts.

I see dark figures running.

"Who's there, Brandy?" I ask.

He shrugs and starts searching the area. I spot a car resembling Justin's and Jordan's motorcycle.

Brandon looks behind a tree and says, "Well, well, well, look who just dropped in," pulling out Jordan.

"Let go of me, jock," Jordan says, punching Brandon's shoulder.

I cross my arms and demand, "Why are you here, Jordan?"

He whistles and puts his hands in his pockets.

"Guys, come out! Justin, you need to explain to Anne why we're here," he shouts.

Justin is here?

The others emerge from different directions.

"Hi Anne, didn't know you were here," Justin says.

I snap, "Cut the innocent act, Justin."

He sighs, "We went to a party, then came here, and Jordan saw you and your boyfriend making out."

I blush.

"Jordan, I need to talk to you privately," I say.

He nods, and we walk away from the group. "Do you remember anything from the party?" I ask.

He scratches his head and shrugs, "I only remember drinking; then it was a blur."

I shake my head. "We played truth or dare, and you asked if I was a virgin. I said yes, and that girl who likes to flirt with Brandon called me a loser, so I left."

He looks guilty. "I'm sorry, Anne. I didn't mean to embarrass you." Then he hugs me tightly.

I look into his light blue eyes, and he gives me a shy smile.

"Let's get back before Brandon comes looking for us and kills you," I say. He chuckles and lightly punches me.

When we return, Justin and Brandon are talking by a tree, while Jacob and Carlos are on their phones.

"We're back, guys," I announce, checking the time—9:45 pm. My house is fifteen minutes away.

"Brandy, we need to go now. I can't sleep outside; who knows if it will rain?" I say.

Brandon replies, "Let Jordan drop you off. I'll see you tomorrow at school; Justin and I have an important meeting."

I roll my eyes.

Jordan smirks, "Let's go, babe," dragging me to the motorcycle.

I notice Jacob watching us with confusion.

"Remember to use protection, Jordan. I'm not ready to become an uncle," he says.

What? I'm not having sex with him.

Jordan smirks and says, "Don't worry, bro; we're going to her house." I roll my eyes again.

Brandon glares at Jacob, while Justin tries to calm him down. I get on the motorcycle, wrap my arms around Jordan's waist, and he speeds off into the night.
