Last night was hilarious; Jordan thought he had actually won a million dollars. Luckily, we know which bank he's headed to. Arlene stayed over so we could leave together.

I woke up at 6:00 am to get to the bank by 7:30 am.

I knocked on Arlene's door, but she groaned, "It's six in the morning, I need my sleep."

"Too bad, we have to beat Jordan to the bank," I replied.

She sighed.

I texted Luke: "Happy birthday! How does it feel to be eighteen?" No response, so he must still be asleep.

I returned to my room to find something suitable to wear to the bank. I showered, brushed my teeth, and chose a black high-waisted skirt with a matching blouse and jacket, black stockings and heels. My hair was in a ponytail, and I finished with makeup, glasses, and my large handbag filled with newspapers.

Feeling good, I stepped out of my room.

"You look like you work in an office," Arlene remarked.

I laughed.

Arlene wore a black and red dress that fell just above her knees, black stockings and heels, with her hair in a bun and makeup done. After making and eating breakfast, I checked the time: 7:15 am. We should leave.

Twenty minutes later, I parked a few blocks from the bank. It didn't open until eight, but I called my father to get us in early.

As we approached the bank, guys were checking us out while the girls shot us glares.

"Wow, guys are really checking us out," Arlene commented.

When we reached the entrance, the security guard couldn't help but check us out.

"Hi, I'm Anastasia Montez. My dad said I could come in before the bank opens," I said.

He unlocked the door and let us in.

"While I pretend to work here, you'll sit over there and keep an eye on Jordan," I instructed Arlene.

She nodded.

The manager came out, smiling. "Welcome, Ms. Montez! I'm glad your dad chose our bank. Let's head to my office."

I nodded while Arlene sat with her legs crossed, texting on her phone.

Arlene's POV:

8:00 am

As the bank opened and people began to arrive, I spotted Jordan walking in, grinning and rubbing his hands. I picked up the newspapers and started filming.

Anastasia texted me.

Best friend: Jordan just entered the building, plan active.

I watched Jordan approach the desk and pulled out the antenna to hear him.

"I'd like to speak with Mr. Joseph, please," he said.

"Ah yes, the manager. Please take a seat; he'll be here shortly."

I laughed as Jordan sat across from me, staring at his phone.

I texted Ana:

Me: Plan A complete, now time for plan B.

Best friend: Great.

Anastasia's POV:

After Arlene's text, I said to the manager, "Call him up." He smiled and picked up the phone. "Send the young man up, please."

I watched the clerk converse with Justin and saw Jordan enter the elevator. Arlene folded her newspaper and resumed texting.

I took out my own newspaper and sat waiting for Justin. When he arrived, Mr. Joseph greeted him, saying, "You're the young man who wants to see me?"

Jordan nodded. "Yes, I received a call saying I won a million dollars."

Mr. Joseph replied, "Sorry son, but no one called you. It's likely another bank, or you were pranked."

Jordan's expression was priceless. Mr. Joseph added, "Besides, your account here has plenty of money; why do you need a million dollars?"

Jordan shrugged and left. I texted Arlene: plan B is complete. I saw Jordan storm out, while Arlene held up her newspaper.

"Thanks, Mr. Joseph; this means a lot. I'll tell Dad to give you a raise," I said, shaking his hand.

"It's always a pleasure, Ms. Montez. Come again," he responded.

I took the elevator down to find Arlene waiting by the exit.

"That was fun! Jordan looked so angry when he left," she laughed.

"This video will be useful for blackmailing him later," I replied, and we high-fived.

Heading to my car, I noted the time: 9:00 am. I wouldn't need to distract Luke until after 2 pm; three hours with him wouldn't be a problem.
