Were the British really that bad?
I stopped myself right there. I was here for a reason, and that reason was to kill.
I didn't like Jacob. I would probably end up killing him anyways. I made a deal with myself that I would steer clear of Jacob unless for business.
"It's getting late Annora, let's head back. When we get back, I'll have the servants send food for you. We're also having dinner war planning tomorrow which you are invited to." He said.
I nodded. It was perfect! I can get some information about the British.
We headed back and we said our goodbyes, leaving me by myself. I walked over the bed and flopped down, almost falling asleep when I heard the servants knock on the door. I got up and open the door, letting them with the food. Amazing delicacies were brought in that I had never had before. Much of it I didn't recognize so I had all of it. After eating I fell in the bed, falling asleep after an exhausting day.

I got up the next morning, feeling ready and refreshed. I decided to skip training and go for a walk around the land. I grabbed an apple on the way, with many stares from the women around me. Just as I was heading out the door, Jacob came in and stopped me.
"Good morning Annora! How are you?" He asked with a smile.
Oh god. This was exactly what I was trying to avoid. Trying no to come off as rude with my pirate slur, I straightened up and gave a smile back.
"I'm quite fine thank you Jacob." I said.
"Mind if I join you wherever you're headed?" He asked.
"I'm really sorry Jacob, but I just need a minute alone. I have a lot on my mind and I have thoughts I need to clear up about things back home." I said. His face dropped immediately, and I felt guilty right away.
"I'll see you tonight at dinner though right?" I said with a smile.
He looked up and smirked." Yes, tonight. See you later." He said and walked off. Did he really want to go with me? He seemed so disappointed. I've only known him for a day.
I walked out the door, and ran down down to the beach. The wind whipped around me, my black hair flipping everywhere. The sky was grey but the sea was calm. I loved these kind of days.
I ran onto the top of a rock overlook and sat down, catching my breath. I breathed in the ocean air, and closed my eyes. I summoned Zahara and opened my eyes to see her floating above me.
"Hello Zahara." I said with a smile.
"Annora don't give me that. I know something is on your mind. Now tell me." She said.
I sighed. "How do you know me so well?" I chuckled. I told her all about my feelings toward Jacob though I've only known him for a couple days but we're going into war wih him and how I still have very strong feelings for Breccan.
She listen intently and looked up at me. She sighed and her eyes filled with something that looked like sadness.
"I think it's time you learned about how I got here." She said.
Zahara has never told me about her pastI've wondered for forever because she looks only a few years older than me, but when I asked her once and she got angry and me for asking, and Zahara never gets angry.
I leaned forward, ready to listen.
She looked at me and said,"I was just like you when I was your age. Feisty, and ready for anything. And above all else, a fighter. I've been a ghost for over 200 years, I lived when the last ghost king was alive. He was your ancestor Annora, and possessed the powers you have. His name was Aiden, and I loved him fiercely. He was an amazing pirate and respected and loved me back. We were still locked in battle with the British 200 years ago, and he and I went into battle after a huge dispute about land. He and I fought back to back, knocking down soldiers like flies. We thought we were winning, when a new wave of soldiers came in, and became almost overwhelming. That's when Aiden let a huge wave of energy out, and told everyone to hit the ground. I was too late to get to the ground, and he released the energy wave, hitting me full force. Pain shot through me everywhere, and I was barely clinging onto life with Aiden sobbing and holding me in arms. He then whispered to me "I love you.", and kissed me, sending a bright white light through everywhere. I didn't remember anything after that and when I woke, I was a ghost. I didn't know where I was or really what I was, and I panicked until Aiden found me. He told me he found the energy inside me and fused part of his powers in me, forever making me a ghost. He apologized over and over again, saying he just didn't want to lose me even if he could never touch me again. Although I was saddened greatly, I was happy I could still see. That also meant I would stay my age and he would age without me. He then fought many more battles and died of old age. This was a sad moment for me, but before he died he made me make a promise to him. He said that whoever his next ancestor was, I would train him or her to turn me back into a human so I can live a peaceful life and die like a normal person. Annora I know you're not ready yet, and I'm not going to pressure you, but I'm going to tran you to help me. I know it's very selfish but I can't stand watching people walking into my life and then walking out, and me forever being here." She said, with a look of desperation and hurt in her eyes.
I looked up and gave a nod of my head, taking it all in.
I now knew what I was here for, and I am going to help Zahara in any way I can, no matter who or what stands in my way.
