I turned around was met with Jacob's lips. I was too shocked to move, so I just stood there with my eyes open. His lips were so soft though, and his kiss met my lips with such gentleness.

He opened his eyes and saw mine open. He broke the kiss and backed up.

"I'm-I'm sorry I didn't mean to do that." He said, his face turning a deep crimson red.

I still hadn't answered, and I just stood there still soaking in what just happened.

"Annora are you ok? Did I do something?"

I broke out of my trance and answered." No you didn't do anything wrong. I just need sometime to think." And without another look at him, I ran away as fast as I could.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I got back to my room and shut the down locking it, and slid my back down to the bottom of the door, breathing hard.

Did he not know what he was getting himself into?

Of course he didn't.

He didn't know I was Princess of the Dead.

The odd thing was, I liked it.

I liked him.

Guilt coursed through me though. What about Breccan? My heart ached thinking about him.

Since Zahara was gone there was no one to talk to.

I have an idea.

I think it's time I had a meeting with my old friend the sea.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

I got on my feet and ran down the stairs past servants and advisors out to the cool crisp air. The moon was full and had a glow cast upon the land. I ran down to the beach and breathed in the air. The smell of the sea always calmed me down.

Zahara said I needed to stregthen my connection with the Dead but just training with them didn't feel like enough.

I swam out as far as I could and I dived underneath the water.

I put a bubble of energy around me so I could breathe and dove deeper and deeper. After about a minute or so I reached the bottom of the sea.

I sat down in the soft mud and watched the little fish swim around me. The eerie glow of my energy bubble cast a odd light on the seaweed and other plants on the ocean floor.

I take a deep breath and shut my eyes, reaching out of the spirits.

I'm thankful for their life and their energy to fuel me. They are me and I am them.

I open my eyes to see lights in the distance under the water. I panic for a moment and then I notice what it is.

The spirits.

They start forming figures and I see people of all kinds. Men, women and children.

They are hundreds all around and they start forming a circle around me.

I extend my energy bubble until they are all enclosed it. They all raise a hand up and a bright light comes out of each their hands. Every single ball rises up and meets in the middle, creating a huge ball of light.

The light starts to descend until it is right in front of me.

The ball starts to take form a figure, and with a gasp I realize who is in front of me.

Aiden.

This is Zahara's husband, and also my past life.

I look up and meet him in his eyes, and he gives me a crooked smile.

"Hello Annora. I am Aiden, the King of the Dead. I feel in your soul problems a many, so I am here to help you. While you always surrounded by Death, you must always make sure you give, not take away. You need to be connected with the Spirit World and I shall give that connection. With that, I will bind your soul with mine, making my spirit yours. Good luck my dear Princess."

I stared in awe at Aiden and his deep voice felt like it rattled the whole sea.

What did he mean by bind my soul with his?

Aiden gave me one last smile, and then flew straight into my body.

I shuddered and gasped, an odd sensation overcoming me. My eyes filled with a bright light and I realized that Aiden had just bonded with me.

Power flowed through me, and my hair flowed all around me. I looked up and saw the spirits bowing down to me. I gave a nod, crouched down, one knee and both my hands on the ground. I felt all the power go and to my hands and I shot straight up.

I broke the top of the water and it surged around me, keeping me on top of the water.

I let myself drop into the water, and I swam to shore.

When I got to shore, I collapsed, breathing hard.

And with that, I blacked out, the events of the day overtaking me.
