We ran to the opposite side of the island where no fighting was going on. We fell down on the sand as we tried catching our breathe. This didn't last too long though, because Breccan came walking out of the jungle, sword in hand. His shoulder length brown hair that was held back in a ponytail had fallen partially out and hung in clumps around his face. The look he had on face scared me, and I backed slowly away from him.
"Annora, if he's going to fight us, I'm am not going to let him get anywhere near you. Do you hear me? I will not lose you." He whispered to me. He stepped in front of me, shielding me with his body. He had his sword out and ready in his strong grip.
"You will pay for this Annora. You were supposed to be mine. You're child shall be an outcast. Ugly and undefined. You will regret ever doing what you did to me." Breccan walked slowly forward, breathing heavily. He looked absolutely insane.
"Don't even think about it Breccan." Jacob stepped forward, locking gazes with Breccan. His redcoat was dirty and torn, but he still looked strong.
Breccan screamed and barred his teeth at Jacob, he lunged and swiped his sword at Jacob's head. Jacob blocked it as he stepped backwards, struggling with holding Breccan's strong grip. Jacob twirled underneath the sword and Jacob fell out their hold. Breccan swiped quickly and slashed Jacob's thigh. Blood came slowly trickling and Jacob groaned, the pain obvious in his face.
"What are you going to do now British man?" sneered Breccan.
Jacob stood back up straight, limping on his leg. He looked almost intimidating as he held his sword up high. His face was devoid of emotion, his blue eyes cold as ice.
"I'm going to fight to the Death."
Jacob danced around Breccan as Jacob swung at Breccan in all places. I watched in awe as Jacob's sword seemed to be everywhere at once. Breccan looked like he was struggling as he tried to keep up with Jacob's swift movements.
Breccan looked extremely tired, and was now just trying to defend himself from Jacob. There a small cut below his left eye, bleeding slightly. He also had a large cut on his right arm. He grunted in pain because that was his strong sword arm, and it was becoming obvious the pain he was in. I wanted to help both of them and just tell to them to stop, but I knew it was too late for that.
Jacob spun around and slashed hard at Breccan's sword. Breccan dropped the sword as he was caught off guard and wasn't strong enough to hold his sword as his arm was bleeding all over the place.
Breccan was breathing heavily as he held his arm, trying to stop some of the bleeding. Jacob smirked as he held his sword to Breccan's sword.
"How about you stop hiding behind the sword and fight me like a real man?" asked Breccan as he slowly got back up from his knees.
Jacob cocked an eyebrow, but I knew he wasn't going to back down from a challenge. I saw his leg was bothering him, but Breccan also had his hurt arm.
"Come at me then." Jacob spit out the words, and you could almost see them dripping with poison meant for Breccan.
I couldn't stand to watch anymore, so I turned my back as I heard Breccan tackle Jacob to the ground, and I heard a grunt of pain as someone's fist made contact with someone else's face.
I needed to call upon a greater power if I was going to get this whole war to stop. I wanted to keep as many fellow pirates alive as I could, but I could not get them to stop all by myself.
I needed the help of Belmiro, and quick.
I walked over to the water, cringing as I heard the fight between Breccan and Jacob going on behind me. I knew the fight between the two was much deeper than just me now, and I didn't want to get involved.
