My heart sank, and I didn't know what to do. Why did I have to carry this burden of off all this Death? Why did I have to be the cause of all this sadness.
I got up off the floor and sank into my bed, just wanting to sit down and cry. But I needed to be braver than this. I was one of the first ever women warriors, and I could stand up to any of these men who thought otherwise.
I stood up, and a surprisingly sense of calm washed over me as I took a deep breath in. I knew what I needed to do right away.
Looks like I was heading to the Spirit World.

I needed to tell Jacob I was leaving because I could be gone up into the next day. The moon was up high in the school and the stars twinkled in the midnight sky, so I would probably return by noon the next day. Time here moves much faster than it does in the Spirit World.
I made sure my dagger was in my boot and I wore a tight black shirt with tight brown pants that slid inside of my boots. I did a quick french braid in my long black hair and hurried out the door.
Everyone was in bed so I tiptoed quietly and quickly to Jacob's room, hopefully not disturbing anyone.
When I got to his door, I knocked softly on the wood and and whispered his name through the door.
I heard some rustle through the door and a moan and then the large door creaked opened and there stood Jacob in no shirt with loose shorts on. Also to say he wasn't wearing his wig.
"Annora what are you doing up at this hour? I was sleeping..." He said looking annoyed. "Well I'm up anyways now. What's going on?"
"Can we go inside to your room?" I asked looking down both ends of the hallway to make sure no one had heard us.
He backed up, opening his door all the way and beckoned me in. I walked in and shut the door behind me, locking it too.
"Did something happen?" Jacob asked concerningly.
"Of course not. It's just that I realized, I need to do my last bonding with the Spirit World Keeper. I just wanted to let you know I was leaving but I may not be back until tomorrow. Time down in the Spirit World travels much faster here than down there so may seem like a few hours may be half the day gone. I wanted to do at the middle of the night though so no one would see me." I said turning to look at him.
"Are you sure this is safe Annora?" Jacob said turning out to look out his balcony.
"Jacob, this is something I need to do for myself. This Keeper, no one has ever bonded with him before. He is powerful and very corrupted. But I have the confidence to make him bond with me. I can't be a Queen until I have bonded with my past life and a Keeper, and neither of these task are exactly easy." I kept my tone firm to let him know I needed to do this.
He sighed and then looked up at me with tired eyes. "I know I'll never be able to stop you so I'll let you go. But please be careful. " He walked over to me and embraced me and kissed me full on my lips. I felt the desperation in his hold on me but I had to go.
I backed away from him and gave him one soft kiss on the cheek. "I'll be fine Jacob. I've done this before. Never underestimate me."
I realized that I didn't have the biggest frame, so I came off as petite to some people. I wasn't short, but I was exactly tall either. After all the years of hard work, I had toned muscles and tan skin from being underneath the sun. My black hair has brown highlights in it, and it flowed down to my waist. I often got stares as a little girl from my eyes, but people never questioned me about them. When I was younger, I never wanted to play with all the girls on my island because all they wanted to do was play dolls and dress-up. I never wanted that. I wanted to be the greatest feared Pirates in all of the Seven Seas. It was of course frowned upon even for there to be women pirates, but my Mother was one, and she had amazing dagger skills. My parents were extremely accepting of me and I learned mainly from my Father. Breccan started training and fighting with me after his parents died in battle. Breccan and I then became some of the best swordsmen on the island.
I snapped out of my flashback and gave one last smile to Jacob before leaving the room and shutting the door quietly behind me.

I giggled to myself while walking down the hall because I realized what Jacob looked like without his wig. For being on the island for almost two months, I had never seen him once without his wig. His real hair is a dirty blonde, but he told me it used to be much lighter, but now that he wears his wig all the time, his hair is a dark blonde. I wish he would throw that thing in the trash.
I tiptoed swiftly down the dimly lit stone hallway and made my way out through the front entrance.
The stars twinkled high up in the sky and the cool air felt refreshing against my face. I got past the castle gruonds and surprisingly no one was guarding the castle. I let my down out of its braid and ran down to the beach, my hair flowing behind me.
I got to the beach and stood for a moment catching my breath. On this cloudless night and the moon fully lit, the light of the moon cast an eerie look on the sea.
The sea was calm and peaceful, and I felt at rest with the silence around me.
I stood on the beach for a moment breathing in and out, and reaching deep inside myself.
I felt the pain and misery, I felt the happiness and light, and I felt the darkness and grief within the Spirits. I felt it all rushing into me, and a shiver passed though my body. I looked down at the ground and saw it start glowing a faint green. I took a step back but the light kept following me right in front of my feet.
I then realized my eyes were glowing.
I held my head high and ran for the water, diving straight into the cold murky depths.
I was ready to become a Queen.
