I stepped out through to the other side of the portal and kicked hard back up to the surface of the water. I stepped out of the cold dark water and it was light up, the sun high up in the sky. I was gone for a while.

I sat down on the beach, and thought over what had happened.

I had bonded with a Spirit Keeper no one had even looked at for hundreds of years.

I had a power beyond anything else.

I lay back on the warm sand, letting happiness take over for just a minute.

But my joy soon ended quickly when I saw my white hair fall around me.

How was I supposed to explain my white hair and bright red eyes?

A deep sigh escaped my lips as I realized all the English people were going to question me, more than they already do. I had no idea to explain to them that I left in the dead of the night and came back the next day completely different looking.

After thinking for a few minutes I decided when someone noticed me that I would act just as surprised as them that my hair changed color and I had no clue how it happened.

I walked up to the looming doors of the Kings castle and got strange looks from redcoats standing guard but they didn't question as I walked through.

Bustling servants with trays hurriedly walked around the dining hall with food of all sorts. The scent filled my nose as my stomach rumbled and I realized I hadn't eaten since yesterday.

I was just about to grab a roll off a servants plate when Calypso came running up to me, looking alarmed.

"Annora! What are you doing here? A-a-and your hair! What happened?"

"What are talking about? My hair isn't any different." I said, trying to stay calm as much as possible and not laugh at Calypso's confused look.

"Just look! You didn't notice it?" She said, pointing at my hair.

Acting like I was confused, I swung my hair around my back and held it in my hands. I stared at it, trying to look in as much shock as I could for her.

"I-I-I have no absolute clue how in the blazing Hell this happened." I said quietly, as if I taking in my bleach white hair.

"And you eyes!" said Calypso, covering up her mouth with her hand and she looked into my eyes.

"What? What about them?" I said acting startled.

"They're, they're red!"

"What? Be serious Calypso this isn't funny" I said, trying my hardest not to laugh as I bit my tongue.

"Look, look here in my plate!" She said as she held up her empty silver platter.

I leaned forward and looked back at myself, my red eyes looking red enough to burn holes through the plate.

I covered my mouth with hands, feeding even more into my little act with Calypso.

"Calypso, I have no idea how this happened! This isn't right. If you don't mind I need to go up to my room and think. I don't know how this happened..." I said trailing off, trying to get my point I was upset and confused to her.

Calypso's chestnut brown eyes filled with pity and she patted my arm and nodded a sad smile at me to go upstairs.

I gave a sad smile right back and ran upstairs.

Once she was out of earshot, I doubled over laughing at the sight of Calypso's face and all the shock and pity she had for me.

If only she what was really happening.

When I finished my laughing fit, I stood back up and saw Jacob walk out of his room.

"Jacob!" I said loudly and ran over to him and threw myself into his arms. He was surprised and stumbled back a few feet but soon chuckled as he realized it was me and wrapped his arms around me.

"Annora, you're back! What happened to you? Not to be rude but I didn't recognize you at first." He said flashing me his brilliant white smile.

My body spread with warmth as I reached out and grabbed his hand.

"Let's head to my room and I'll explain everything."

We walked into my room and sat down on the ground together. I explained all about the Spirit World and Belmiro and how I was the first person to bond with him.

"So that's why your hair and eyes turned that color?" He asked after I explained everything.

I nodded.

"That's absolutely insane. I can't believe my girlfriend is a Princess of Spirits." He said, a smile spreading across his face.

"And I can't believe my boyfriend is a British soldier who is the King's son." I said, laughing.

We sat there laughing but then realized the reality of our words. A Pirate and a British solder.

Both of us come from people who hate each other and would do anything to see each other's blood on the ground.

I looked up and saw Jacob staring at me, and I felt a warmth spread across my face. His blue eyes looked even brighter with the sun streaming in through the windows.

"You're so beautiful Annora, no matter what you look like on the outside." said Jacob quietly as he stared at into my eyes.

My heart thumped in chest and I grinned ear to ear.

I leaned forward and planted a soft kiss on Jacob's lips. "And no matter where you come from, I still look at you as an absolutely beautiful soul. Inside and out."

He grabbed my hips and pulled me down next to him on the ground, my hair flowing around us.

"I love you Annora."

"I love you too Jacob."

And we laid like that, next to each other, knowing we might not be able to ever to do this again.
