(Mike's POV)

Before I knew it, the girl that I put all my heart into was on the back of my bike. The girl that everyone thought was dead. The girl I secretly had a crush on.

We had a small talk that was really important to me. I made a promise that I know will never break. I loved caring for her. I loved helping her in any way possible. It's just, I'm not so sure if she feels the same about me.

Her head was leaned against my back, which instantly made me feel better. It felt like medicine that finally kicked in after hours and hours of feeling sick. She made me feel better. And I tried my best to make her feel better too.

I helped El off of my bike, which I don't normally do. It just felt necessary in this moment. I lead her up to my basement door, not even thinking about what was gonna happen. All I cared about was El being safe now.

She sat down on my basement couch. She was a total mess. Her high tops her covered in mud and her dress was trashed. Her face was still pretty though. Her big brown eyes were what got me. Every time.

"Hold on, okay? I'll be right back I promise."

She nodded slowly.

I ran up the stairs to find that Nancy was sitting at the table reading a magazine.

"Uh....Nancy??"

"Yeah Mike?", She said, still focused on her fashion magazine.

"I um... I need your help."

"With what?"

"Come with me."

She set her magazine down and slowly approached me. I ran down the stairs while she took her time to walk. When we got down there, I could tell Nancy was shocked.

"Eleven?!"

El quickly spun around. I gave her a look that told her Nancy was alright to talk to.

"Yes.", She replied.

"How is..how did she?", Nancy said.

"Don't worry El! We'll me back in a sec, alright?", I said.

Me and Nancy made our way back up to the kitchen.

"What is she doing here Mike?!!!"

"Calm down, she's dirty, cold and scared. I need your help."

"My help? What am I gonna do about it?"

"She's a girl. I'm a boy. Would you rather have me help her take a shower or you?"

Nancy looked at me and sighed. "Alright. I'll help.", She smiled afterwards.

"Thanks Nance."
