chapter 15 What am I to you

Zaire's POV

I don't think she believes me. I could see her eyes widen but I couldn't tell if she is shocked or scared. "Cherise please say something." Her eyes dart towards the door then back at me and then back to the door. She dashes out her room keys in hand clinging down the hallway.

I run after her calling her name but she ignores me. "Keep away Zaire!" But her being her clumsy self she trips over air and falls flat on her face. I kneel down to help her up but she sticks her foot out trying to prevent me from getting any closer. I throw her foot to the side and hover her looking at her beautiful chocolate brown eyes. Cherise please listen to me. I can see tears hiding in her eyes. I hold both of her hands by the side of her face. "Cherry please don't be scared of me. I would never hurt you." I could feel tears threaten my eyes.

"Get off Zaire."
"Cherry please."
"Get off me NOW!"
Sighing I get off her and sit next to her. Sitting up tears fell down her face. "Cherry look" but before I could finish I was cut off by a sting to my face. Her slap didn't physically hurt but I could feel every emotion with that slap. Hurt, confusion, and anger.

"I deserve that."

" You deserve more" she snaps. "How could you lie to me..again? And don't you dare say I'm protecting you. Because that is a bunch of bullshit."

Cherry's POV

"I'm so freaking pist Zaire!"

"I understand" he says

"No you don't. Because if you did you would have told me when I first saw Jolie at your house or when I said I saw a freaking monster at that mountain." I see the hurt hit him as soon as I say monster.

"I'm sorry I didn't mean to say monster. I mean dragon".

"Its fine" he says. But I can still see hurt in his face. After a few minutes of silence he finally says something.

"Are you scared of me Cherise?"
Blinking a few times I am a bit surprised by his question. Shaking my head I look at my knees. "No I'm not scared just a little...hurt. I wish you would have just told me the truth."

"Its kind of hard to tell someone you're a dragon."

"I'm sorry I didn't tell you before." he smiles at me. Kissing him on the cheek I stand up sticking my hand out. "Whatever Zaire just please don't lie to me again."

"Yeah" he says grabbing my hand and giving me a wet kiss on my cheek.

There has been a question scratching at me for sometime now. Are you the dragon from the waterfall?

"Yeah."

"Explains why I couldn't find you that day. Were those dragon eggs in the mountain then?"
"Yeah. It was a Dragon colony. Its where a lot of dragons are born."
"Were you born there?"
"No I was born on Marlo my home planet."
"Marlo?"
"Yeah some dragons live here on Earth but everyone else is on Marlo. A planet in another galaxy."
"I was actually born in royalty.
"Royalty as in your like a Duke's son or something?"
"More like the kings son" he said chuckling.
"You're the kings son?!

"Yeah it isn't really all that fun though."

"Why not? I mean hello servants and maids you probably don't even have to clean like ever. You're not doing it right give me the job of being the king's son I will show you how to take advantage of that."

He starts chuckling a little. "No my dad wants me to make sure I know how to do stuff so I usually had to clean my own room."
"So wait who is in line for king then? You or your brother?"
"My brother."

"Why don't you want your brother here?"

"That's for another time though. I really rather not get into that."

"If you ever feel like telling me you know where to find me."

He heads for the door but there was one question I really needed to know. Who the hell is Jennifer really?
"Wait Zaire!"
"Yea" he says turning his head.
"Um...what am I to you?"
He looks puzzled. "What do you mean chi chi?"
"I mean am.. I your girlfriend?"
His sexy smile is plastered on his face. "Yeah." He leaves me there on the top of my stair case with a big smile.
