It's been two whole weeks since Aiden challenged me. Alan had been going back and forth from here to Philly. He told me he had found his mother, and she was in a nursing home up there. Like me he had grown up in foster care, so I was ecstatic for him. Myself on the other hand was totally different. He had come back with the idea of helping me find my birth parents. With the last two words I had blown up and yelled. I screamed, 'I never wanted to meet the cowards who gave me life. If they didn't want me they shouldn't have had sex, abstinence is key'. After those harsh words I had pack a few close and slept over at Kayla's. It was a bit of a change for me considering she on the border line of up and down town, but more uptown. Alan didn't run the fights up there I when I did sign up for one I had my hood draped over my face. Since all the students at me school live uptown, I also had to fight with my hood up.
I had a couple uptown fights in my past, but that was when I was just starting out, back then I covered my face too. That's how I received the name ghost, though it was also because the competitor couldn't see me on the mat, I was to fast.
Yesterday I had returned home and told Alan I was sorry. Never in my life had I apologized, but in this case I knew I was in the wrong and shouldn't have said such cruel things. Alan said he understood. Unlike me, Alan had lived with his drug addicted mother and alcoholic father for the first seven year of his life. He was taken away from them do to the fact he would come school with black eyes and bruises everywhere. The teacher had gotten supious so they called defice to check out his home life. He picked up fighting because of his boxing team in highschool and went pro five years later. After he ripped a tendon in his arm he retired at thirty and owned the gym ever since.
Aiden still intents to get some answers out of me about my old life in Jersey and when I had first gotten here. The fist time his had asked about my mother, Carla, I had told him to shove it and punched him in the stomach. After which, he had finally gotten off the floor catching the air back in his lungs and caught up to me. Then he wouldn't shut his mouth about Ghost. I swear this boy could go on forever. He asked so many dang questions.
First it was, 'Do you know her?', Then it was, 'Does Alan know who she is?', The last one was my favorite though. He said, 'I'd totally do her.' I cracked up and clutched my stomach gasping for air as he looked at me funny. When I'd sobered up I told him, 'Please Aiden, any girl with a brain wouldn't find you "doable".' He had said something about me being jealous and I had scoffed about him.
Friday finally arrived and Kayla swung by my house in her hummer to give me a ride to school. Though now we couldn't go to the diner because We had forgotten the time on Monday and missed all last period. It would have gone unnoticed if it weren't for that witch Brittney and her annoying mouth. Now we were 'grounded' to the school lunchroom by the principal until further notice. I swear I could throttle that chick.
When Kayla appeared at my door I invited her in and we had breakfast, afterward we left to school. This was like a daily routine now, since her father had gotten it for her and she was finally not sick anymore.
Hopping into the drivers side I yelled, "I'm driving." Kayla threw me the keys and she jumped into shot-gun. She would allow me to drive when I wished because if we crashed she said her father would get her another one.
She laughed and said, "That Bast**** is still trying to buy me with all the new money he has from his fancy job." I smirked at her and hit the gas, causing her to roll down her window and let the wind blow into her face.
Making it to school I slowed down so I wouldn't get pulled over for speeding in a school zone. I swung the car into the school parking lot and turned the car off. Before she could step out of the car though, Kayla said, "What's up with you and... um... Aiden?" it was like saying his name was going to have me shoot her.
