Ericka's POV September 21st

I rolled over onto my side, waking up from my slumber. I scratched my eyes, then glanced at my phone. 9:36. Now I had to decide if I wanted to go to church or not.

"I have all the right reasons to go..." I told myself. Yet my mind gave me so many reasons not to go. Whether it be that they would ignore me, or that nobody would miss me. And then I think of Merilyn and Jenny. I promised I wouldn't leave them alone again, and I think that's a good enough reason to go to that dreaded place.

"I'm coming to church. What time should I be at your house?" I sent my text to Kristin. She replied a few minutes later, while I was in the shower.

"10:30"

Jordan's POV

Another Saturday, another game day. To my surprise, our game was once again a home game. We were against Gillette this week and I knew for sure Ridge would win the game. Gillette literally sucks at all sports, except for colorguard and marching band if that's even a sport.

I pulled out my laptop and searched up the song Ericka and I were given. I didn't like Taylor Swift, I was into Metallica and all. But her song Everything Has Changed kind of reminded me of Ericka and I's relationship. Everything changed the moment I met her, and I've only known her for two weeks now, yet I'm falling for her. I continued to listen to the song, looking over the chord sheet at the same time.

"Jordan, come down here!" my mother called for me from downstairs. I shut my laptop, exiting my room and running downstairs to find my mother standing next to the door with a familiar face.

"James!" I exclaimed, smiling at my older brother. He pulled me in for a hug and we embraced for a few moments. My mother left the room to cook something for my older brother. "What are you doing here?" I asked him. James is in his first year of college at Cornell University and should definitely be in school rather than home. But it was refreshing to see him again.

"I wanted to visit, I'm going back tomorrow." he told me. "Do you have a game tonight?"

"Yeah, its a home game." I replied. "You coming?" he nodded his head yes, and gestured to go into the kitchen. Our mother served James his favorite dish, glazed chicken breast. I sat at the kitchen table as James ate his meal.

"The food at college makes me miss mom's cooking." he told me, eating the last piece of chicken on his plate. I reached over to take his plate to the sink for him. However, he stops me from doing so, and takes the plate to the sink himself. He then pulls out his car keys and heads towards the door.

"Come on, lets drive around town." James offers, heading out to his car before I can even get out from my seat. I follow him out the door and enter his car. Our drive around Ridge begins. James loves this town, he probably always will. In Ridge High, he was voted most spirited during his Senior year.

"So," James begins, breaking the silence between us. "How's school going for you?"

"Good. I'm doing well grade wise, I won our first match, and I met a few new people." the moment the last six words escaped my lips, I thought of Ericka. James raised his eyebrow, I knew what he was going to say next. He was gonna ask me about girls.

"Any girls in that group of new people?" he asked, confirming my guess. I rolled my eyes.

"Yeah." I was being honest with him, he'd try to pull the truth out of me I'd I lied.

"And?" he said, trying to pry information from me about Ericka. How do I describe her without making her sound like a hermit or another typical girl? I pondered over the topic for a moment, before coming to a conclusion.
