Jordan's POV September 14th
It was Saturday morning. I had just dragged myself out of bed, and instead of productively getting out of it, I just stayed in bed. I began to scroll through my phone. Nothing new, of course. I had a game today, so most of my team mates were posting stuff on Facebook. Kenzie sent me a friend request; I just left it there. I ended up looking through her profile a bit, only to find pictures of Emblem 3 and Austin Mahone all over her profile. Her profile picture was a picture of her and... Wait, that was Ericka? I looked again. Yep, it was Ericka. I clicked onto the picture and found that she was tagged. I clicked the tab and it brought me to her profile. Her name was Ericka Adamec. People that weren't from our school posted on her profile. Maybe she transferred a while back? I sent her a friend request, then got off of Facebook.
Ericka's POV
"We haven't seen you in a while, Ericka!" Mr. Rivera exclaimed, hugging me. Mr. Rivera was Kristins dad. It's Saturday, and I decided to go to church for the first time in a month. I've been trying to avoid church because I didn't like the feeling of being alone while being surrounded by a group. I was close with three people there; Merilyn, Jenny, and Pearl.
Merilyn was in her first year of college. Her and I got along because we were into the same things and to be honest, she's the funniest person I've met.
Jenny is Merilyns sister. She's a year older and somehow looks like she's twelve. Jenny is the opposite of Merilyn, but she's almost as funny. They're dad gives out brad to everyone every week. The three of us make jokes about the bread.
Pearl is a Senior. She's a bit misunderstood. I respect Pearl because she's honestly stronger than most people. Pearl and I both feel the same about church, we talk about it a lot. Pearl is a great person, inside and out.
I was riding in the car with Kristin. She's only spoken two words to me, and I feel like she hates me more than anything at this moment. I pulled out my phone and began to text Merilyn.
'Kristins ignoring me again'.
'Lolol seriously? Are you coming to church today?'
'yeah duh, mermer! Why else would I endure this awkward car ride?'
'how sweet of you'
'I try, I try.'
We finally pulled up into the driveway of the church. I exited the car and walked through the doors of the church, dreading what would happen.
"Ericka, hello, my sweet!" said Aimee, the happiest person like, ever. She's a bit annoying, only because when you're upset, she'll keep bothering you until you smile. I simply waved at her, and allowed her to hug me.
I walked down the stairs to find my youth group, made up of Precious, Jared, Jam, Emma, Emily, Pearl, Merilyn and Jenny. I sat down right in between Merilyn and Jenny, and that's when everyone began to rave over me except Jared
Jared was a quiet guy. I had this huge crush on him from January until July, when I realized he didn't care for me and probably never would. He liked this woman who was a single mother. I didn't know what he saw in her, but obviously she was really special to him. I didn't like her much, and she didn't like me. It worked out.
"Erkaaaaaa!" Emma screamed in my ear, kissing my cheeks. Previous and Emily almost squeezed me to death with hugs. However, I openly hugged Jam, Merilyn, Pearl, and Jenny.
Jam and I used to be really close, until I fucked up our friendship. He liked me, and I want comfortable with getting attached to people, and I still have a hard time doing so. I rejected him, and more were recovering our friendship. When my problems began to get worse, I ended up talking to him and he helps me feel a little bit better for what I did to him, but he'll never help me get over the other bad memories.
"Alright, back to our lesson!" Jared commanded. Everyone simply obeyed him, and Precious continued to read the lesson. I pulled out my phone, scrolling through Tumblr. Then I remembered; I have Jordan's number. I pulled up his contact, and began to type.
'hey, its Ericka'
I waited for a reply. It didn't come until five minutes later.
'Hey! What's up?'
'nothing much, just hanging out with a few friends ahaha. you?'
'nothing really, I have a game later'
'oh cool. you play tennis right ?'
'nah, I play ping pong.'
Wait, the school had a ping pong team?
'that's cool ahaha'
'you know I'm kidding, right? I play tennis ahaha.'
'oh lolol. I'm really gullible ahaha'
'dont worry, it's kind of cute'
I blushed a little. He thought it was cute, the way I was so gullible. Oh my God, how do I reply?
'ahaha thanks.'
I ran out of words, so I stopped replying. However, Jordan ended up replying.
'so how do you know Kenzie?'
'my parents are friends with her parents, why?'
'eh, I honestly never imagined her being your friend. you're like polar opposites'
'yeah ahaha. she used to be quiet, then she started dating this popular guy and now she's kind of annoying'
'yeah she's a bit annoying ahaha.'
For once, someone agreed with me that Kenzie was a nuisance. I grinned, typing up my next text.
'oh, she bothers you too?'
'yeah, she's all over me at practices'
'that means she likes you, silly'
'I know, she makes it so obvious ahaha'
I was typing my next text, when Jared began looking for someone to close in prayer.
"I'll do it." Emily volunteered, after a minute of silence. Emily prayed, and began to head upstairs. Merilyn and I stayed downstairs for a bit.
"Yo home skillet." Merilyn said. I sick out my tongue.
"Hey bb gurl. What's been going on?" I asked her.
"Yeah everyone's being hormonal now it's weird."
"I could imagine why." I said, as Merilyn walked up the stairs without me.
"GUUURL hour date you ditch me!" I said in an accent, running after her. I caught up to her, and we sat down in an empty pew. I pulled out my phone to find another text from Jordan.
'so maybe you could come up my game..?'
