Ericka's POV September 16th
Mondays, ugh. I rolled out of bed and began to get ready for school. I stumbled into the bathroom, my mind not fully awake. It was six in the morning; my mind would never be awake at this time. I brushed my teeth for a good two minutes. Next, I began to wash my face with my St. Ives facial wash, then finished it off with my Clinque face wash. I then walked back into my room, putting on my navy blue Captain America shield shirt and a pair of shorts. I didn't feel like wearing anything tight today, it was a laidback day for me, considering it was a Monday. Once I was done dressing, I decided to apply some mascara. My eyelashes were long enough, I just felt like it. I felt like I wanted to impress someone, I just didn't know who. I pulled out my bun I slept in, allowing my wavy hair to cascade past my shoulders. I liked my hair because I didn't have to work to make it look nice. It looked nice naturally, and as a girl, it was something to appreciate.
I walked down the stairs, hearing the occasional creak on every other step. My Mom wasn't downstairs, I told her to sleep since this past weekend was busy at our restaurant. I grabbed a crossiant and my keys and walked out the door. I looked at my phone to find a text from Jordan. I grinned.
hey, whats your locker number?
it's 998, why?
i wanted to meet you before homeroom
alrighty then!
I sent the last text, and before I knew it the bus arrived. I sat it the second to last seat again, because since the doors opened constantly, the front of the bus was usually hotter than the back. Therefore, the back was perfect. The same thing applied in the winter, except it was usually darker and everyone was in a horrible mood. Winter wasn't the best time for a high schooler.
I got off the bus, entering the high school. My locker was on the second floor, so I had to climb the stairs. I turned the corner, and easily saw Jordan leaning against my locker. Once he saw me, a smile spread across his face. I jogged over to him.
"Hello." I greeted him. Jordan was still smiling down at me. Did it hurt for him to smile this much? He smiles at me a lot.
"Hey, Ericka." he replied. "Wanna walk around?"
"Sure, why not." I agreed. "To be honest, I've never walked around school before. I usually just go straight to homeroom."
"Then I'll show you around!" he said, happily, gesturing for me to follow him downstairs.
Jordan's POV
I wanted to see Ericka again, to see if that feeling I had in my stomach Saturday night would return when I saw her. It did, I couldn't stop smiling and I hope she didn't notice my excessive smiling. She told me she had never walked around school before homeroom, so I began to lead her around.
"So whats there to do before homeroom?" she asked me.
"Nothing much, just talk with friends and all that." I replied. "Like you can see the friends that you don't have any classes with."
"Oh, cool." she said. "So were just going to walk around and talk for the next half hour?"
"Yep, if that's fine with you." I chuckled. Suddenly, Ericka's expression got all serious.
"Actually, it's not." she said sternly. For a moment, we just stood there, until she began laughing.
"I was being sarcastic, silly!" she laughed, lightly hitting my shoulder. I laughed along with her. However, her laughter continued for another two minutes after my laughter seized.
