Ch.16

After another three days of leaving the canyon, it took blue and blossom another four days to arrive at the Tower of Heaven. Using her windsurfer, she and the Exceed arrived at their destination, which was not what they were expecting. With it's twisted body and sporadically jutting sides, the tower appeared very chaotic and asymmetrical. The bottom and main body of the tower were comprised of overlapping and intertwining lengths of metal tubes, which wound together from the ground and straight up into the sky. These giant pipes were held together through a series of smaller tubes which linked the main sections, as well as many differently sized and shaped golden decorations, which looped over and around the frame of the tower, adding to its unruly presentation. Around the main form of the building, a twisted staircase wound, rising around the tower and leading to the throne room at the top.
The said throne room also added to the disorderly nature of the building, appearing as a giant green sphere encased in crystal. The surface of the sphere was uneven and blotchy, also being decorated with several red eye-shaped symbols, marked in a circle just above the rooms circumference. From this green sphere shot a large amount of sharp crystals, each separate column pointing randomly from the room and appearing to have literally grown through the sides of the walls. Keeping these crystals in place was a detailed metal band, which ran around the length of the room. Right at the very top of the tower, another little metal structure protruded, this being a twisted golden cone.

Blossom had blue lines under her eyes. "Why the hell did they call this prison the 'Tower of Heaven', d'aho?" She wondered. "Shouldn't it be called the 'Tower of Hell', d'aho?"

"I've read about it." said blue while she was still on her surfer. "This tower is also known as the R-system. More than ten years ago, a black-magic religious cult constructed it in order to cast a forbidden spell to resurrect someone from the dead. It requires a large number of living sacrifices. Also, through the slave-labour of the sacrificial humans, they amplified the magical power they needed."

"Wow, now that's what I call 'screwed up'." commented the Exceed.

"Let's go." Blue and blossom went closer to the tower and much to their surprise, there were no guards. Rather than wasting time wondering about that, they ran inside of the tower. Sniffing the air, she smelt a very familiar scent and followed it. She found herself inside a room full of cat furniture and cat plushies. A person was in the middle of the room struggling to pull off a green cat mascot head that was stuck to his head. She saw a red Fairy Tail mark located below his right shoulder. "Natsu!" she exclaimed.

Hearing her voice, the said person cheered, although his voice was muffled by the head. "Blue! Help me!" he cried.

"What the hell were you trying to do, d'aho?!" scolded blossom . Blue pulled the head but it could not get off from him.

"I was just playing around but- ACHOO!" he was cut off by his sneeze. "I can't wipe around my mouth! Eww!"

"Hold still, Natsu!" ordered blue, still trying to get the head off.

"I thought you and blossom are on your Double S-Class task?" he asked.

"We are, and this place is where our second task is, d'aho." replied blossom .

Suddenly, someone fired a gun but the bullet was a block as it missed the two and got stuck to the wall. Since she and Natsu were busy with the costume, blossom turned around to see a man. His distinctive feature was his whole body form, which consisted of geometrical shapes and resembled that of blocks. He had black hair, an oddly-shaped chin, and thick lips. The man was struggling with a woman, who stopped him from ambushing the two. She was noted for her cat-like appearance: possessing cat-like eyes, nose and mouth. Her brown hair was stylized into cat ears at her crown and tied into two ponytails at the base. Her face had four red whisker-like tattoos. "Don't!" she yelled.
