Tori's P.O.V

"Well at least I wasn't expelled." Wendy sighed as they stood outside the double doors that lead into the Great Hall. "I mean two months worth of detentions and not being able to go to Hogmeade next time isn't the end of the world. It won't be fun, that's for sure, but it's not expulsion."

I nodded. "Thank you for doing that."

"Hey, it was the right thing to do. It was the least I could do after what I did to you... which I will be sure to make right at dinner tonight."

I nodded. Wendy opened the doors and looked back at me. "Aren't you coming?"

"No, I'm not all that hungry. I think I'm just going to go outside and relax... could you tell Cassandra that I'll meet the girls them in the common room later?"

Wendy smiled. "Sure thing... and- and I'll explain to Teddy what I've done."

"I appreciate it."

I turned and walked out of the school. Pulling a book out of my bag, I sat down under a tree and started reading.

Teddy's P.O.V

I stared in stunned silence at Wendy. I felt like I didn't even know her.

"You did all that to her - you made her miserable...all because she was my friend?"

"What do you mean was?" She asked.

"I doubt she's going to want to continue being my friend after how I refused to listen to a word she said."

"I'm so sorry, Teddy," she whispered. "I know I acted like a monster and I could have gotten her kicked out of Hogwarts and I get that now. I realize what I did and I'm paying the price."

"How? You have a few detentions and don't get to go on a trip, boohoo. You turned the school against her! Do you realize what names people were calling her!? If her friends hadn't been there by her side the entire time, and if she wasn't as strong willed, I don't even want to think of what may have happened to her! And all because you were jealous I had a close friend that was a girl! Because she made me visibly happy!?"

Wendy bowed her head in shame. "I'm sorry."

"I appreciate your apology, but I don't know if I can forgive you right now. We will talk about this later though. Right now I need to try and figure out how in Merlin's beard I am going to apologize to Tori."

I got up and pushed my plate away from me, instantly sending the food to the house elves to dispose of.

"Teddy?" I looked down at Wendy. "When I talked to her before dinner she said she was going outside."

I nodded and looked around the Great Hall for one particular student. I needed the map.

Tori's P.O.V

"Ahem." I turned around and looked up to see Teddy. "Mind if I join you?"

I nodded. "Yeah."

We sat in silence for what felt like an hour until Teddy spoke up. "Wendy told me everything... or at least she says she told me everything. Who knows anymore, really."

I bit my lip. I couldn't believe what I was going to say, but I didn't want their relationship to end on account of me...even if I was finally willing to admit to myself that I had a crush on Teddy.

"She really is sorry, as far as I can tell. She just got ahead of herself I think. I don't want to stick my nose in places it's not wanted, but it seems like you guys had problems before I got here. She really likes you, and with us becoming so close I guess she just felt scared that you would dump her for me."

"Yeah, well, we're going to talk tonight... I guess we'll se what happens."

Teddy seemed to try to say something but couldn't. I looked up at him, since he towered over me when we were sitting.

"I want to tell you I'm sorry, but those words don't seem genuine enough. I should have listened to you before I turned my back on you. I - I'm ashamed of how I acted."

"It's okay, Teddy. You've known her much longer than you've known me, and she's your girlfriend. You would have wanted to believe that she would tell you the truth."

"Still..."

"Still what?"

"My parents didn't die in war so that I could be an obnoxious jerk to my friends."

Teddy slumped over and put his head in his hands. "They were heroes. They died fighting Voldemort to make the world better for us all. I want to make them proud, but how can I when I can't even trust my friends."

"I'm sure they got mad too, Teddy. Have you talked to your godfather, asked him what your parents were like?"

"Yes, and he always says how fantastic they were and how much they loved me. I love to hear how great they were, but it puts a lot of pressure on me."

"I can't imagine what that is even like." I said. There was no use in me pretending to understand what he felt like. I was not an orphan. It would be insensitive of me to do anything other than listen and try to understand what he was feeling.

"It's hard. He shows me pictures and stuff, but it's not them, you know? But he cares enough to talk to them about me, so I have a pretty great family. Besides, I have a whole lot of great friends." I smiled. "Oh, I forgot something."

Teddy reached inside his robes and pulled out a quill. He handed it to me.

"Oh, Teddy! A quill!? How did you know I wanted one?" I giggled when Teddy rolled his eyes.

"Give me that, will you? Look. I had to transform it into a quill so I could bring it to you. It might look weird if I was seen carrying this around Hogwarts."

Teddy waved his wand at the quill and it transformed into a little teddy bear. It had white fur and a scarf and hat with the Hufflepuff colors on it.

"So can you forgive me for being an a-"

"Teddy! Language!"

"Sorry." He laughed, handing me the teddy bear. It was unbelievably soft.

"But yes, of course I forgive you." Teddy gave me a side hug.

"I must admit, I did miss talking to you, Red."

"Ugh stop calling me Red!" I exclaimed.

"Sorry, I like it. It suits you."

I rolled my eyes. I'd let him call me Red for now. I was just glad to have my friend back.
