Teddy's P.O.V.
"Teddy, you tall smurf, I can not believe you just did that!" Victoire whispered, an angry look on her face. "Where did your brain disappear to!?"
"I don't know what you're talking about." I said, pretending to straighten the plastic cups for the drinks.
"Oh come on, Teddy. Don't play dumb with me!" Victoire exclaimed. "You had the perfect opportunity to dance with her and you blew it!"
"Victoire, what makes you think I want to dance with Tori." I said, turning to face her.
"The fact that when all of us walked in, your eyes immediately went to her? The little smile you get on your face when she does something cute? Or maybe it was the fact that you asked her to spend Christmas with you guys." I struggled to find an answer and in that one second it took me, I confirmed for Victoire what she had already thought.
"Alright, I panicked. It just didn't seem like the right time to ask her." I said.
"Teddy, you may never find what feels like the right time. You just need to take a risk and ask her."
I ran my hands through my hair. "Fine. Next slow song I will ask Tori to dance."
Victoire clapped her hands. "Perfect! I'll go request one from Nate right now!"
I watched helplessly as Victoire ran up to Nate, a Slytherin who had a knack for DJ-ing. Looking around for Tori, I finally spotted her in the middle of the dance floor with all her friends. I shook my head. It was now or never.
The first chords of the song rang out, and the dance floor quickly cleared, leaving only couples left on the dance floor. I quickly pushed down the nerves crawling up in my stomach. I was Teddy Lupin. If worst came to worst she would say no, and I would be fine because no one would even know except the two of us.
Steeling my nerves for the inevitable, I walked up to Tori, ignoring the fact that all of our friends eyes were now on the two of us.
"Tori, would you like to dance with me?" I asked, reaching out my hand to her.
Her beautiful brown eyes looked straight into my own, and a smile crept across her face (although she was trying not to let it show too much).
"I would love to."
Tori's P.O.V
It was everything I could do not to burst into giggles. I was dancing with Teddy Lupin. His arms were wrapped around my waist and my arms were on his neck, and we were slow dancing. Time seemed to slow down, and then started again when I thought of something.
"Teddy?"
"Yeah?"
"Was it a dare? Is that why you asked me to dance?"
Teddy pulled away from me to look me in the eyes. "No, no. I would never do something like that. It's just cruel."
"Okay, good. Sorry I just got kind of nervous there." I relaxed as Teddy pulled me close to him once more.
"Tori?"
"Yes, Teddy?" A giggle escaped which caused Teddy to chuckle.
"I may make a complete fool out of myself, but that's okay, because I always feel like I'm acting like a fool around you. Anyway, I kind of, sort of, really like you, and I just wanted to know if you maybe liked me too? Because if you just wanted to dance as friends, I'd rather know now before I do something stupid."
"Well, I'm glad you said that," I said, smiling up at him. "Because I kind of, sort of, really like you back."
A big goofy grin spread across Teddy's face, starting with his mouth and ending with his eyes. It was wonderful. Before I realized what I was doing, I was standing on my tip toes and was kissing Teddy. And Teddy was kissing me back.
