Chapter 2

YOUR P.O.V

I waited at the park for Adrian but he was a no-show. My manager and the photographer suggested that we do this another time. With nothing else to do, I went to the swings and swung myself a little with the tip of my toes. My mind wandered to Ladybug, then to Cat Noir, then to Adrian, then back to Cat Noir. I was so lost in thought that I didn't realize it was getting dark and someone had sat on the swing next to me.
"What are you doing out here, Kitten?" Adrian asked. Kitten was a pet name he gave me when we first met.
"I was waiting for you but you decided not to show. So, I just started thinking."
"About?" the blonde asked.
"C-Cat Noir." I said with a blush spreading across my face. "I like him. He's cute and cool and brave." Adrian stood silent. I felt a light push on my back, I turned to see Adrian pushing me on the swing.
"You know he has a huge crush on Ladybug." Adrian said.
"Oh. Really?" I asked sadly and disappointingly. Adrian nodded. Again there was a silence. It wasn't an awkward one though. It was comforting and filled a void inside me. The sun was setting and filled the sky with purples, oranges, and pinkish colors.
"Big brother," I said to Adrian," can you promise me something?"
"Anything my little kitten."
"Promise to protect me? Make sure I don't get hurt emotionally or physically?"
"I promise." He messed up my hair in a playful way. My (h/c) hair was all over my face now.I stood up and held my arms out to Adrian. He came forwrd to give me a hug and at the last minute, I side stepped and messed up his hair. I then poked his and said,"Tag, you're it!" Adrian and I chased each other around the park and played as if we were six-year-old.

After the sun ha set, we laid down on the grass and looked at the moon and and stars. My phone vibrated in my pocket. It was my mother. The message read:

                          "Get home now! You missed your piano lesson! You're grounded."I sighed and placed my arm over my face. I hated playing the piano. I hated my mother. My mother owns a well-known piano company that give lessons to kids. She was obsessed with piano and wanted me to play as well. I replied to the text saying:                                                          "On my way mother."

I looked over at Adrian and my smile that I had on earlier was long gone.

"I have to go." I said with a monotone voice.

"I'll take you home. It's too late for a little kitten like you to walk all alone." I gave a slight smile and got up. We walked out of the out of the park and headed down the street for my house. In the morning, I didn't feel like getting up. My fingers hurt and my arms ached. Mother made me practice all night. I had a bruise on my leg just above my knee. I went to eat a small breakfast and grabbed the morning paper. What heart stopped as I saw what was on the front page. I picture of me and Adrian and me in the park together with photo shopped hearts surrounding us. The headline read: "Adrian and (y/n) Together? "
No, no, no! I hope people don't believe this stuff! I hope my manager won't call saying to go with it just for good publicity. I walked back to my room and my phone vibrated. I had three messages. They were from my manager and it read:                                                          Did you see the papers?
                                                            Talk with Adrian about it.
                                   It would be good for publicity. Go with it for a while!Me and my big mouth. I wanted to scream. I immediately called Adrian but it went straight to voicemail. I then called Marionette. Luckily she answered right away.
"TELL ADRIAN TO CALL ME!!!" I yelled.
"B-but..."
"Just do it, it's important."
"I'll try. Give me a sec." you heard Marionette stutter as she tried to talk to him.
"Marionette!" you called to her.
"Yeah?" she replied.
"Put me on speaker." Once you were on speaker you called out to Adrian saying,"Call me now!!!" Then you clicked. Seconds later you received a call from Adrian.
"Kitten?" the blonde asked.
"Did you see the papers? My manager said to go through with it. That it's good publicity. Then she said to talk to you. Do you wanna do this?"
"Well, we kind of have no choice, do we?"
"I guess not."
"Well then, would my kitten like to go on a fake date with me?"
"Yes. I would love to go out on a fake date with you." We chuckled at the same time. This would be fun I guess. I heard the bell ring on the other side of the phone.
"I got to go," Adrian said,"I'll come see you after school."
"Alright, see ya."
"Bye kitten." he clicked and I laid on my bed facing the ceiling.
"I can't believe I'm doing this." I said to myself.
