CHAPTER 6

Leaving her drive way I thought about what I had said to her not so long ago and wonder why I didn't just stay to talk to her instead. I can already feel regret creeping in on reaching the Café, coming down from my bike where I parked in the drive way I walked inside to find Mariah and Jessica at a table both talking not noticing my presence just yet. Walking to their direction I find it funny how I don't seem to be the same love struck idiot I used to be when I saw Jessica, I shook my head not wanting to analyze why because I have a feeling it has a lot to do with Sarah so I brush it off.

"what was so important that you had to drag me away from my job?" I asked startling them then sat down, facing Mariah I smiled saying "its been a while Mari, I thought you were going on a date."

Gasping dramatically I put my hand to my mouth and whispered "is Jessica your date, have you turned les on me sis?" I asked and before jess could respond I felt my a blow to my head which hurt so damn much. Glaring in the direction of Mariah I was about to speak but she cut me off.

"You better shut your mouth Davidson or it wouldn't be a blow to the head next time." she says giving my crotch a meaningful glare making me shift uncomfortably in my seat "it seems my time away has made you more confident little brother, but it's no problem because I will be more than happy to remind you all over again why you should not mess with me." she hissed drawing closer to my face.

Feeling my confidence evaporate immediately as I remembered my childhood all over again with mar for an older sis, I sit up straight "no need sis, am good thanks." there was a slight tremble in my voice which made her smirk in triumph and Jessica chuckled making me remember old times.

"so what's with the emergency that you had to drag me away from my job about?" I asked again trying to change the subject as I looked from one face to the other.

"We want you to back off Sarah, her mum is coming tomorrow and plans on telling her everything so we're here to ask you to wait because it could emotional hurt her." said Mariah.

I signed saying with a serious voice "So you want me to back off because you're afraid she might have messed up emotions and unleash her powers making the humans aware of us or is it that you know the minute I tell her about her being a guardian and that she has another set of family that she knows nothing about all these years, she'll want to leave to see her other family."

"no that's not-" jess started to say but I cut her off.

I point to Mariah first "you're afraid of losing your 'Barbie'," I quote rolling my eyes and then pointed at Jessica, "You're afraid to face your family, aren't you just thinking about yourselves in this matter."

"You like her don't you, that's why you want her you want to go there don't you?" Jessica asked out of the blue narrowing her eyes at me and am not sure but I thought I saw a hint of jealousy in her eyes, shaking my head I shook off the thought knowing I must have imagined it.

I turned to face her with a blank expression not ready to acknowledge anything and was about to respond but Mariah cut me off "Look we don't want her here for ourselves, we just want her mum to be the one to explain. if you knew Sarah, you'd know if you tell her this she'll go crazy and then start thinking irrationally and emotionally unleashing her powers, we already have the dark one's back at our tale so we don't want to draw him to her. we just want her mum to be the one to tell her first."

"Firstly I don't want Sarah back home because of me but her family, you keep saying you want her mum to tell her but until when is she going to now after all this years?" I asked, practically yelling drawing a few attention, we looked around and i signed running my hand through my hair in frustration then lowed my voice saying "secondly her mum is not the only her family she has and we both know the other part as missed her for 17 years, plus she has to train to fulfil the prophecy.... too many years has been lost already. Do you think it's fair we put the entire world in danger just because you want to wait for her mum, am telling her tomorrow so you can either have Rita here or am telling her." I stated with finality standing up.

walking back to my bike I thought about what Jessica said and wondered if she was right about me liking Sarah but decided not to put too much thought on it, I have an important mission to complete and it would be best to focus on it right now.
