CHAPTER 12
After my fabulous dream, I woke up cheerful and went through the day making calls to the organizers of my party making sure everything was set in place.
The invitations to the party had been sent this morning via text, so people should be receiving it by now, that's how they are getting into my party. A lot of them consist of A-list celebrities, courtesy of mum and there is going to be a red carpet for the most important people.
I was still ignoring everyone because the last thing I needed was for them to ruin my mood for this party," its going to be spectacular and am not letting anyone or anything stand in my way, its my 18th birthday damn it," I grumbled to myself.
Feeling my emotions spiraling out of control, I took a deep breath in through the nose and out through the mouth. I continued this for a minute before I felt myself relaxing. It's a trick Bill had thought me when I was younger and could tolerate his presence a little better at the time.
Spending so much time making sure everything is set, I hardly noticed the time pass-by until there was a knock on the door. Checking my phone I notice its 5:oopm already, I still have an hour till the party.
There was another knock on the door making me remember there was someone still outside, "come in," I shouted standing from my place on the couch. One of the maids that comes on occasions to clean entered, holding a bag and a note.
She bowed and said, "Sorry to bother you miss, but there was a gift sent to you with this note," she said handing them out to me.
I collected them, "thank you, you can leave." I dismissed her and she bowed her head and left.
Opening the note, I dropped the bag on the couch and sat down reading the note.
I hope you received my gift on time my little Jyoti (light), it was my mothers, and she wanted you to have it. I know it must be hard for you to adjust to the developments in your life and my sending you this note after so many years of not knowing me is not helping but your mother told me she already told you about us and I was so impatient to write to you. If I am bothering you with this note am sorry I just wanted communicate with you. I would love it if you could come visit Slovenia during your summer holiday or when you're free, I want you to know you are welcome anytime, I miss you and your mother dearly.
If you open the bag you can see a box inside which consist of your grandmothers priced jewelry. She wanted you to have it after she died and since she wasn't able to give to you, she begged me to send it when the time is right.
Please I don't want you to take off the bracelet, because it will help you to control your emotions better now that your powers are unleashing. It also a charm bracelet made with the aim to protect its owner.
My little Jyoti I hope you have a wonderful 18th birthday and even though I am not there, I want you to know I will be there in your heart.
Love father.
Reading the note made me tear up, because it was the first time I had a connection to him in 18 years. I always thought he abandoned mum, so I never pressured her for answers when she never wanted to talk about him, but to find out we had to separate was because we were in danger made me regret not pushing mum for more answers.
Taking the bag I pulled out a gold box and untied the red ribbon, opening it I gasped at what I saw inside. It was a beautiful silver triple plated chain circle blue stone necklace and a matching piaget ring and a intertwined pave diamond bracelet.
It was bloody beautiful, turning the back of the necklace I saw an engraving, "worn by the purest of hearts, to guide and protect you through your journey." Seeing the set and knowing it belonged to a grandmother I never saw both made me happy and sad.
Signing I put everything back into the box and locked it in my drawer, took off my pajamas and went to the bathroom and showered. Coming out I wore a robe with my hair covered with a towel and was about to prepare for my makeup until there was a knock on the door.
Thinking it was the maid again, I called "come in" without looking at the door and continued to arrange my makeup. I heard more than one footstep come in and close the door but I was too busy to turn and look at who entered so I just asked "what is it?"
Looking at the bed, there are a few dresses am contemplating wearing. The party is being hosted at this exclusive nightclub called "ORO" for 18 and up.
Remembering there are people still inside the room I turn "I thought I asked you a." but I stopped short seeing mar and jess in my room instead of maids looking awkward and nervous.
"Can I help you guys with something?" I asked irritated crossing my arms.
Mar and jess looked at each as if not sure of what to say until mar stepped up and said they were here to help, if I wanted them to and knowing I cant do it myself I agreed.
Mar had styled my hair, curling it to let it fall around me in waves, leaving on to the side pinned with a ribbon and leaving bangs on the other side letting it come to the front. Jess had applied my make-up making it simple but also sexy.
While they went to get dressed and ready I put on my dress which was a short white one shoulder Bodycon sequin dress.
Remembering the message my dad left me, I walked to the drawer and opened it taking out the box, I took the bracelet and clipped it on my hands, leaving it dangling due to my small wrist and watched how the diamond stone brightened and the bracelet tightened on my arm.
I gasped at what just happened and touched my wrist feeling how secure it is. I could feel so much power vibrating through my entire body even though I had no idea what to do.
Thankfully the vibration stopped through my body and the blue stones stopped glowing and I know deep inside there was no way I will be able to escape this mess.
