Here is a tip: when in a book store, obsessively sniffing things and taking pictures, if you pick up a book to read the description...ALWAYS check to make sure it's the first in the series.
Why? Because if you pick up the second book and read the description, it is more than likely to give spoilers about the first! This will save you, and me, as it often does.
