Chapter 12 : Diamonds In The Sky

Caitlin opens her eyes. What is this place? Heaven? Barry whispers into her ear : Liked it?
Caitlin : Loved it!
There was a big silver lake in front of her and dark forest on the other side. The fairy white reflection of the moon was sparkling on the silver water along with the stars. The sky had uncountable stars. It was just a beautiful scenery. Caitlin looked at the whole place. Only nature!
Barry : Come.
He folded his pants and sat on the side of the lake dipping his legs in the water.
Barry : I used to come here when I was eight. This was my place. I found peace here. Whenever I felt extremely sad I came here. I remember once like today in a full moon night I came here crying.
Caitlin comes and sits beside him also dipping her legs in the water.
Caitlin : Why were you crying? *concerned*
Barry : I saw my mom in dream. I saw her adoring me. I felt so desperate to get her at that moment. I felt so angry that I couldn't save her. I realised I was weak. Neither Iris or Joe knew I came here. I cried a lot. I let my depression, all the sadness go down.
Caitlin : Did it make you feel better? *placing a hand on his shoulder*
Barry : My heart was lighter than before but it didn't really make me feel.... Better.
Barry wipes the corner of his right eye.
Caitlin : Barry...
She took his left hand on her right and hold it tightly.
Caitlin : You've been a lot of rough time. And trust me you are one of the strongest person I've seen in my life. Never think yourself weak or never blame yourself for the death of your mother. Cuz you shouldn't feel guilty. You are a hero Barry. You were a hero. You will be a hero. Saving lives of thousands of people risking your own life? What else do you call it except heroism?
Barry : Cait...
He hugs her. They hugged each other for tightly for a minute.
Barry : Promise me you won't leave me *still hugging her*
Caitlin : I promise I won't leave you Barry.
Both of them holds each other's hand, dipping their legs still in the water and gazes at the stars.
Caitlin : Are you like this every time? *still gazing at the stars*
Barry : Like what *gazing at Caitlin*
Caitlin : Like this crazy. Suddenly deciding to come to a place like this and deciding to spend the night here.
Barry : Are you also crazy like this then? Suddenly deciding to cancel a luxurious dinner and deciding to watch Netflix instead?
Caitlin smiles.
Caitlin : I loved this idea of coming here than Netflix.
Barry : And I loved the idea that you are with me.
Caitlin : Your pick up lines are so weird...not actually! It's cute!
Barry laughs and lays down on the grass. Caitlin does the same also.
Barry : You know if you think the trees as the wall, the sky as the roof, it won't be nothing than a perfect house.
Caitlin : Nature is my home. It always has been. Those cold nights in my teen days. I spent countless days sleeping on nature's lap.
Barry : I really enjoy learning about you.
Caitlin : Really? I think I'm actually quiet boring. I'm just so into science, nature, world etc.
Barry : That's why I like you more.
Caitlin : But I'm not like those normal people. I don't date, hangout, listen to music of these days. I am so different from them. I don't know why I'm like this.
Barry : Hey hey are you regretting?
Caitlin looks at the stars.
Barry : Cait you're regretting cuz you are unique? Sorry but I've to tell you, you're nothing than a fool then.
Barry turns at her side.
Barry : If you're unique then think it as a gift not a curse. Do you even have the slightest idea how magical you are? You are so amazing. You are intelligent, creative, smart, nature lover, beautiful. All these things makes you such an awesome person.
Caitlin looks at him and smile.
Caitlin: We always end up giving each other inspirational advice.
Barry laughs.
Barry : True indeed.
Both of them looks at the sky.
Caitlin: This is beautiful. I love stars. Look how beautifully they shine!
Barry : Just like you!
Caitlin : Oh Barry! *she looks at him*
Barry looks at her. He looks at her eyes. It said something. He approaches a little close. Caitlin didn't hesitate. He closes his eyes and kiss Caitlin on her soft lips. Caitlin also closes her eyes and kiss him back. Barry holds her waist and pulls her closer to him. Caitlin gets inside his arms and keeps her hands on his shoulder. Both of them kept kissing under the lights of thousand stars. The whole place was silent, all you can hear is the mild sound of the water. Barry looks at Caitlin.
Barry : I think I should tell you this before it's too late. And there can be no perfect moment than this to tell.
Caitlin blinks.
Barry : All this time I've loved only one person and it's you caitlin!
An iceberg cracks inside Caitlin. Is it a dream? Is this happening? Like Barry the person she likes and kinda thinks love, just said he loves her?
Barry : The person I was talking about the whole time is you. I broke up with Iris because I love you! You're my Hermione! You are the most beautiful and smartest girl. Caitlin Snow....I love you!
Everything stopped for a moment. Caitlin looked at Barry shocked. She can't even hear the mild sound of water anymore. She still can't believe this is happening. She had a crush on Barry from the beginning but finally it's today. But is he joking again? Oh! No he can't! He just kissed me! She looks at his eyes. Sparkling with confidence and a smirky smile on his face. Oh now that's hot! Omg! Why did he give this expression! Now she wants to kiss him again.
Caitlin : Barry...to be honest...
Barry: Be honest and take your time. Whatever your decision will be I'll accept it.
Caitlin : I love you too Barry!
This time Barry was surprised and he smiles. He can't believe this! Did she just say yes?
Caitlin: I like you from the beginning. I like to spend time with you and to be around you. But I always knew it won't happen as you loved Iris. But now that you told me, Barry, I feel like the most special girl in this whole world. I love you Barry! I love you so much! No matter what I'll always love you! I wanna live for you. I wanna be a perfect soulmate. I wanna be your everything *Caitlin starts crying little*
Barry keeps a finger on her lip. A tear rolls down from his eye. He smiles.
Barry : Sweetheart you don't need to be a perfect soulmate! Just be MY soulmate.
