Chapter 19 : Smoke

So Caitlin sits on the chair. Barry turned around and pretended to do something when actually he was just listening.
Hunter : So recently I am working on a project. This is about a cure. It's about to cure blindness.
Caitlin: What? You mean that you are working on something which can cure blindness? Well Dr.Zolomon I dont think so I'll be able to help you with such a great project.
Hunter : Caitlin I know you can. You also know you can. Come on! You work at STAR labs! The best scientists of the bests works here. It'll be damn easy for you. Even I think it'll be done by now.
He takes out some papers out of his bag.
Hunter : Look I've come across almost everything. But this isn't just matching. Like I thought the result of this one would be something else which would totally make this cure possible.
Caitlin: Let me take a look...
She looks at the papers by coming beside Hunter. He looks at Caitlin from backside and smiles.
Barry turns towards them now to have a better look. He observes Hunter's eyes. Oh He is totally checking out Caitlin. Barry starts burning with anger! He grips his fist tightly. If he could just hit that jerk! Hunter : Um Caitlin...I mean this is totally off topic...but you are really beautiful.
Caitlin looks at Hunter.
Caitlin: Uhm Thanks.
Hunter : You know it's really hard these days to find girls like you who are intelligent,smart and beautiful at the same time. Your boyfriend must be really lucky to have you.
Caitlin choked a little.
Caitlin: Um Dr.Zolomon *smiles* I don't have any boyfriend.
Barry relieves a deep breath after Caitlin's sentence. He's kind of both relieved and sad. Relieved because she kept their relationship secret and sad because he know that now this Hunter guy will hit on her and he has to protect her without showing the world.
Hunter : Are you kidding? Like how's it even possible? A beautiful smart woman like you is single? *Laughs* I don't believe this. There must be men going crazy for you.
Caitlin looks down for a while. Barry tries to look her face from standing in his place. Caitlin looks at Hunter with cold eyes.
Caitlin: Dr.Zolomon, Last year I lost my husband,Ronnie.
Hunter's face suddenly becomes dark.
Hunter : I'm..I'm really sorry Caitlin. I didn't have any idea. So...umm did you figure out anything about those? Caitlin: I actually have to see all The papers. Because I've to figure out through the root.
Hunter : Sure. But unfortunately I don't have those papers with me right now. Um I guess I can give it to you tomorrow.
Caitlin: Yeah sure. I'm in STAR labs all day.
Hunter : Really sorry to ask but I'm busy tomorrow so can you just come by my office Tomorrow? Like I really don't wanna give you so much trouble-
Caitlin: Ah it's ok. I'll come by.
Hunter : I'll text you the address. See ya Caitlin.
Caitlin walks him to the door. Finally Barry speaks.
Barry : He was all flirting with you. Even His pick-up lines were creepy. Like if I could just hit him right there.
Caitlin: I can smell of something burning!
Barry : Cait the joke is old.
Caitlin: Barry I really can smell something burning!
Barry: Cait c'mon I'm not jealous. Why would I be jealous of that suited nerd who's just-
Caitlin interrupts him.
Caitlin: Barry Seriously? I can smell something burning! I'm serious!
Barry looks serious now. Both of them runs towards the room beside. It was Jesse's. Barry tries to open the door.
Barry : It's locked!
Caitlin: Look!
They looks down, black smoke was coming from under the door.
Caitlin: Oh My God! Did she set a fire?
The room starts to fill with smoke. Caitlin starts to cough.
Barry : Cait! You okay?
Caitlin: *coughs* I *coughs* am allergic*coughs* to smo*coughs*
Barry : C'mon you need to get out of here right now.
Caitlin coughs for a few times.
Caitlin: No! Open the lock*coughs* we have to *coughs* save her.
Barry looks at her with a please look. But Caitlin still stood there. Barry moves his hand fast and opens the lock. Both of them enters the room. It was filled with smoke. Barry notices the smoke was coming from the bathroom. Both of them walks to the bathroom.
Caitlin: JESSE!!! Caitlin screams just after entering the bathroom. Jesse was just about to sit inside the bathtub when they entered. The whole bathroom was shining because of the kerosene on every stuff. Jesse's whole body was wet, drops of kerosene was coming from the tip of her clothes.
Barry : What Are you doing?
Jesse : What are you two doing here? Get out of here. You'll burn too.
Caitlin noticed one part of the bathroom was already burning.
Caitlin: Jesse you can't do this. You can't! You've to come with us roght now.
Jesse : I won't! Get out of here! You'll die too, you are inside the circle, please go *Jesse starts crying*
Barry looks down Caitlin's heels were wet.
Barry : Cait! Step away!
Caitlin: Barry you've to stop the fire!
Barry nods at her and runs to the fire. He stops it with his hands.
Jesse : *screams* What have you done?
Caitlin runs to Jesse.
Caitlin: You're too young Jesse. What were you doing?
She looks down on the bathtub. It wasn't water, it was kerosene. Caitlin looks at her giving an unbelievable look.
Caitlin: What were you planning? Jesse do you have any idea?
Jesse : Yes I do! My dad wouldn't even find my body then. It would be a perfect! For both him and myself. Why did you save me? *Jesse starts to cry* °°°°°°°°°°°°
Harrison comes running with Cisco. Jesse was sitting on the bed all fresh wearing new clothes. He came and hugged Jesse tightly.
Harry: Are you ok sweetheart? Oh my god *his voice starts to break* I..I was so...scared *he starts to cry*
