M2 seething with rage stepped away from the couple,creating a great distance between them. How was this possible? How did someone them summon Durandal? A blade that cuts down all evil. A weapon specifically designed to end her life as she knew it.  M2 watched as the blade glimmer ed with light,as Castiel peered towards Persephone. He held the blade aiming it towards M2 was immediately released a fearful cry. Durandal destroyed all evil,which meant one thing. Her power would not work,it would simply cancel out her power while ending her life rather painfully. She had to run,but then she would lose. Certainly there was something she could do. It was then that M2 spotted the unconscious body of Lucia. Smirking as she stepped towards the unconscious queen. Determined to use her as a hostage, surely they would not strike down their Queen. Right?

"Mother!"Castiel screamed as he charged towards M2,blade in hand. Refusing to allow her to harm a single hair on his mother's head. M2 laughed maniacally as she held a blade to Lucia's neck. Threatening to end her life before they knew it. But her threat fell on deaf ears as M2 released a ragged gasp for air. Slowly she looked down to see her chest soaked in blood. And most of all with a gold blade protruding from her chest. Weakly M2 peered behind her to see Persephone with another gold blade in hand forcing it deeper into her chest cavity. "Y-You...."M2 breathed as her blood felt like it was boiling.

So badly in fact she could have sworn her skin would melt away due to the extreme heat. "Goodbye,Mother."Persephone whispered as she swiftly withdrew the blade from M2's body. M2 released a demonic shriek as she clawed at her face. Her once beautiful face as it began to burn away into nothing. "Curse you! Curse you!"M2 screamed as her very body began to crumble before Castiel and Persephone. M2 released one final cry before completly turning into ash and drifting away into the wind. Persephone dropped the gold blade,watching as it dispersed into tiny gold shards.

She remained silent as a single tear slithered down her cheek. Yes M2 was evil and yes she had caused so much pain and suffering to others. But she was still indeed Persephone's mother once upon a time. Knowing she needed comfort,Castiel held his beloved from behind. Reassuring her that all would be well. Slowly Persephone peered towards Castiel her eyes red from her tears. Gently Castiel wiped away her brimming tears before watching as the very sky itself returned to its original azure hue. The sky itself filled with life once more.

From the very sky what appeared to be bright amber orbs,which from afar looked like billions and billions of tiny stars. Streaking across the brilliant sky,yet the closer Persephone looked. The quicker she realized they indeed were not stars but the very souls of people whom had passed away. Souls that she and Castiel had saved from darkness. A light smile appeared on her lips before noticing Castiel running towards the body of Lucia. Who refused to stir from her slumber.  C2 peered towards Lucia,tears evident in her eyes as she shook her head towards Castiel.

"No...mother!"Castiel cried as he shook his mother,her body already chilled to the bone. She couldn't be,she couldn't be. His mother was an immortal. Not a full immortal yes but surely she could not be defeated by this. "M-mother,mother please!"Castiel cried as he held her cold body,tears streaming down his cheeks. She was gone. Persephone averted her gaze to the ground,hiding her tears. But her tears soon ceased as the apparition of Lelouch appeared before Castiel,and C2. His eyes filled with sorrow for his son's pain. "She's gone son,it was her time."He breathed as Castiel shook his head vigorously.

No it was not her time, she was always there for Castiel. Smiling,giving him guidance whenever he needed it. What was he to do now without her words of wisdom. Her vibrant smile, her warm hugs. He refused to let his mother go even if it was indeed his father who was telling him to do so. "She's not gone,she not!"Castiel cried,refusing to give into reality. Persephone placed a gentle hand on his shoulder,causing him to cease his tears. "Castiel,it's okay. She's never really gone."She explained as a familiar voice stated " She's right Cass."

At the sound of that familiar voice Prince Castiel quickly turned behind him to meet the calm amber eyes of his mother. She like his father was transparent yet she held a gentle smile for her dear son."My time here is done sweetheart,you don't need me anymore Cass. You are more than prepared to become King."Empress Lucia stated as Lelouch wrapped his arms around her. Gripping onto her tightly. Oh how he missed her,to hold his beautiful wife. To kiss her was all he had dreamed of for so long. And now it was time.

"That's not true! I still need you! The world needs you mother-!"Castiel choked out,his sorrow swallowing him whole. Persephone held the trembling prince closely hoping to aid him in his time of need. Lucia smiled faintly towards Castiel before kneeling down before him,bidding him to look at her. "You'll be fine,your not alone. You have the new Empress by your side."Lucia informed him,referring to Persephone. Completly taking her off guard. "But I caused you so much pain..." "Yes but everyone deserves retribution and you saved my son. Your debt has been repayed. I only ask you to stay by his side. "Lucia stated with a sweet smile, bringing tears of joy to Persephone's eyes.

She didn't need to be asked to stay with Castiel. He was her world,and she could not picture her new life without him. "I will,your highness I swear it."Persephone informed as she peered towards Castiel who slowly began to regain his composure. "You've found your very own light in this world Castiel."Lelouch said as he held Lucia to his chest,causing the beautiful woman to turn as bright red as a tomato in embassasment. "Don't lose her son. " Lelouch commented causing Persephone to blush brightly while looking away shyly at his words. "I promise." Castiel said causing hie father to smile before he and Lucia slowly began to fade away into C's world. "We love you."Lucia whispered before she and Lelouch disappeared into C's world. The two lovers finally together. After so many years of being apart finally the two of them could be together. As it should have been. Leaving the world in the hands of two new rulers.

Castiel peered towards Persephone, caressing her cheek lovingly. He had lost his mother yes,but in return had gained someone has loved with all his heart. His own light in the darkess. His heart,his soulmate. His love. And as long as he had Persephone by his side anything was possible. For it had been proved before. Castiel smiled as he pressed his lips against Persephone's,hoping to share with her all the love and compassion he had for this woman. But somehow he knew that she knew. That she knew how much he loved her,and she him.

For she would be his Queen,and forever by his side. Now and forever.
