Prince Castiel sat at his mother's bedside, watching her once peaceful expression become one of twisted emotion. She had been this way since she was attacked nights ago. It seemed the brunt of the sickness had faded from his mother's body. She no longer had night sweats,or a terrible fever she once had. And most of all the hallucinations had seemed to evaporate the moment she chose to relax. Castiel reached out for his mother's warm hand,encasing it in his own before kissing the back of her hand ever so gently. "Mom."He whispered to her,hoping and praying she would respond to his voice. Maybe just maybe she could hear him. And just maybe she could assure him that she was alright. It was moments like these that the young Prince felt guilty for harboring anger and resentment towards his mother. Because in truth,what if she never woke up? What if his mother continued to live in this state forever? Castiel knew he would never forgive himself if he was unable to apologize to his mother.

He wanted her to know how much he loved her,and how much he cared about her. How much he needed her,and most of all to tell her that he understood. He understood the reasons she kept his father and the power of geass a secret from him. Castiel didn't at first but now he knew why,she wanted him to fully accept his power. A gift from his father;Emperor Lelouch. And it was a gift Castiel believer he was willing to fully accept. Even if he didn't approve of the horrible things his father did. He was indeed his father.

And he couldn't change that fact, all he could do was accept it. Embrace being his father's son,and the responsibilities that go along with it. And maybe just maybe things will finally begin to fall into place. While ever so slightly Castiel felt his mother's hand tremble in his own,immediately catching his attention. The young prince gripped onto his mother's hand tightly before calling out to her once more. Once again there was more movement from Lucia. This time coming from her hands and her feet. Along with light grunts almost as if she was trying to speak.

"Mom?"Castiel asked aloud as ever so slowly he noticed his mother's eyes trying their best to open. It seemed she was struggling with this,as she an irritated expression appeared on her face. Castiel just knew that she was scolding herself for being weak in front of him. He knew all too well how his mother would always put on a brave face when he was around. It was simply just the way she was. "Open your eyes mom."Castiel breathed not knowing that his voice alone sent a surge of power rushing through her.

Empress Lucia released a light gasp,as the Geass symbol on her forhead began to give off a vibrant crimson light which illuminated the entire room. Castiel shielded his eyes from the light before it slowly began to dim down to a mere glow. Castiel stated in utter confusion as his mother's eyes seemed to flutter open and survey the area. Lucia's bright amber eyes peered towards her son,as a warm smile appeared on her lips. "Cass."She whispered as a single tear of happiness rolled down Castiel's right cheek.

His grip tightened around his mother's hand,as she couldn't help but to smile at him. He didn't hate her,and that was all that she cared about. It was always her feat that Castiel wouldn't truly accept her as a mother and of course;Lelouch who was his father. She wanted Castiel to accept their family for what it was. And at that moment,Lucia realized Castiel didn't care. All he cared about was the fact that she was safe from harm. Castiel tenderly kissed his mother's hand before whispering how sorry he was for how rude her was to her.

Lucia shook her head as she reached over gently caressing Castiel's raven and snow kissed locks. "It's alright,all is forgiven. My sweet little Cass."She whispered to Castiel,all he found himself hugging his mother's waist. With tears of happiness cascading down his cheeks. "Dry your eyes."She whispered to her son who quietly nodded towards her. "I know you came here for something sweetheart. No tell me."Lucia breathed as Castiel took a seat beside his mother,gripping onto her hand. "Your attacker had the power of Geass mom. And she had a blade that even harmed you. I need to know about this "Order". "Castiel stated.

Lucia carefully sat up in her bed releasing a gentle sigh. She knew this day would come,and more of she and Lelouch's bloody days. Lucia prayed Castiel would be prepared for what he was about to hear. "It happened 20 years ago-"Lucia began; watching as Castiel listened intensely to her story. A story filled with utter sadness and bloody carnage,and she hoped Castiel would understand.
