Prince Castiel led Persephone down the long cooridor of the palace. Feeling the eyes of many servants and onlookers. Probing Persephone for the even the slightest of cracks they could expose. And honestly there were many. She was a traitor, a martyr, and a failed assassin. Persephone was pretty sure as soon as she stepped through the door to the throneroom, she would immediately be put to death. Yet the way Castiel held her hand,so securely and full of warmth. For that brief moment Persephone forgot who she was. She forgot she was a traitor. She forgot she was a part of "The Order". For once she was just Persephone. A woman. Something she hadn't had time t be in very long long time. But with Castiel by her side she felt the need to show her true self. The one Persephone had tucked away within her heart, hidden from sight. She wanted to unveil herself to the gentle hearted prince. But she also knew that she had to go through his family. Empress Lucia. Or the Immortal Queen. A woman of true beauty and a strong heart. And the very same woman that bore the scar of the blade Persephone had thrust through her stomach.
Then of course would be C2;a true immortal witch. With the ability to grant geass to those around her. Along with immortality which surprisingly as of late the lime haired woman didn't mind it. Because for once she wasn't alone. C2 had Lucia, who was not a true immortal but did have some of the immortal aspects of being a witch. Her aging process was drastically reduced to such a state that C2 was willing to bet that in 150 years Lucia would barely look 30. It was astounding. The power of Geass.
And then there was Suzaku Kururgi; ex Knight of Zero. And at some point in time when the mighty "Emperor Lelouch " passed on to the next life;Suzaku took the name of Zero. Becoming an advocate for the Japanese and all others who weer repressed under Britannian rule. But thanks to Empress Lucia he was finally able to go by his name in the world. No longer having to hide behind the mask of Zero. And forever he would be eternally grateful to her. Persephone was worried. She would face the intense gazes of Castiel's family.
What if they didn't like her? What if they decided to kill her for her crimes? Just the mere thought sent chills down Persephone's spine, she didn't want to be away from Castiel. No. It was more of she couldn't be away from him. Everything about him seemed to entice her, beckoning her to stick around for more. And she has no intention of leaving his side. Stopping at the large mahogany door before them leading to the throne room. Castiel felt Persephone's small fingers clasp around his ever so securely as if begging him not to open the door.
Not to open it and lead her to a valley of harsh words and criticism. Persephone didn't want that, all she wanted was to be left alone with Castiel. But for the moment she knew she would have to jump through hoops to even gain their trust. Noticing her hesitation,Castiel planted a gentle kiss on her forhead. Which instantly seemed to melt away any hesitation from her heart. "You'll be fine,I'm here with you."Castiel whispered to her in a soothing voice, causing the young woman to smile warmly towards him. She believed his words, she only hoped his family would be just as welcoming.
Gripping onto her hand tightly,Castiel opened the large doors leading to his family. The room was brightly lit with lights. Lovely hand woven tapestries hung from the walls diluting heroic tales of Empress Castiel. The late Emperor Lelouch and even tales of Suzaku Kururgi. And future endeavours that the beautiful Empress hoped her son would achieve. The moment the two walked through the doors 3 pairs of eyes were immediately on the two. And no gaze was as stern as Castiel's mother. Her lucid amber eyes seemed to probe Persephone.
It was odvious the Empress was not too keen on Persephone's appearence with her son. That much could be observed without words. Noticing this Castiel's grip seemed to tighten around Persephone's waist as he daringly stepped forward before his family. Bowing before his mother,C2 and Suzaku. Persephone followed his lead lowering her head before the intimidating people. Feeling the heavy tension in the room. She only prayed the conversation would go along a whole lot better. "Mother, this is-"Castiel began only to be silenced quickly by his mother. Never had he seen his mother so cold, almost bitter at him.
All his life,Empress Lucia was nothing more than a caring and loving mother. Who always encouraged Castiel to do better for himself. The person before him was not the mother he had grown up to know and love. There was something off about his mother. "I know who she is. This is the woman who tried to kill me. The woman that you chose to save from exile." Empress Lucia stated coldly, catching the attention of even C2. Who was shocked at Lucia's coldness towards the stranger. The Lucia she knew was always so forgiving to others.
Even those who do her wrong. Something was wrong, this was not her sister. "...yes mother. She is but she's something more. Mom shes-" Castiel began only to be interrupted by C2 who eyed the nervous yet beautiful Persephone from Lucia's side. "She weilds The Power of a King. And a powerful one at that."C2 pointed out as she ordered Persephone to look at her. It was with great hesitation that Persephone peered up towards C2. Her azure gaze penetrating C2 causing her to gasp. Her eyes were the purest of blue C2 had ever seen. They were simply stunning and we're windows to Persephone's soul.
Persephone was a tortured soul yet within this tortured soul held a shimmer of light. Light that had recently increased the moment she met Castiel. It was almost as if her heart seemed to open at the mere thought of him. C2 felt no ill will from Persephone, only regret and utter sadness. Persephone was good and she harbored no ill will towards anyone. That much or as odvious. Quietly C2 leaned over to Lucia, whispering her findings to Lucia who simply nodded all the while eying the girl.
"I do not condone this Castiel;but C2 believes she is of no harm to us. So for now...I will allow her to remain here at court as a Lady in Waiting."Empress Lucia began as Persephone's eyes lit up at her words. She was being given a chance. To be truly free and happy, with Castiel. "Thank you,I am truly honored by your words."Persephone whispered to the Empress who silenced her. "I am not through. For your time here you will be our eyes and ears in The Order. You will tell us all that you know, and aid us in ridding the world of them. But...if you ever once betray us..."Empress Lucia began as Suzaku stepped in front of both Castiel and Persephone.
A mere few inches from them before swiftly drawing his blade and lounging towards Persephone. Who stood still in utter shock, sure it was only a scare tactic. But that didn't matter to Castiel. On instinct the handsome prince drew his blade as well, and allowed it to clash with Suzaku's. With a stern gaze he eyed Suzaku in almost anger. "I will end her life if she betrays the crown. "Suzaku stated before slowly withdrawing his blade.
And with that the two were bid to leave, and with a newly found happiness in his heart Castiel led Persephone out of the room. Leading her to her new room which was not too far from his. Her room was a mere hallway away with ivory walls and pillars which seemed to almost held the room up its self. The room was gorgeous, beautifully decorated with a lovely dresser, bed and even a walk in closet. It was the biggest room Persephone had ever been in and it almost made her head spin.
"This is all...mine?"Persephone whispered as she ran her fingers across the smooth ivory walls. "Yes,is it too much?"Castiel asked her as Persephone nervously nodded "Yes but...but I like it. Im..I'm close to you."She mumbled shyly catching Castiel's attention. He couldn't help but to smile at her words before running his fingers through her long flowing raven hair. He knew it soothed her, help could tell by the way she caressed his own hand at his mere touch. "Yes. Your close to me,and you always will be."He whispered to her.
Persephone smiled towards Castiel before finding her right hand slolwy moving up to his face. She had been eying Castiel's eye patch and it quite annoyed her. She couldn't understand why he would hide the beauty of his eye. She loved gazing into its lovely amber hue. In truth she wanted to gaze upon it every waking moment. Castiel made a move as if he was going to stop her advance but be found himself welcoming her gentle touch. Slowly she untied the eye patch, allowing it to fall from his face. The moment she saw his amber eye it sent a familar chill down her spine. A pleasant one.
"Don't hide your eye from me. Castiel."Persephone breathed before gently pressing their heads against one another. Feeling the heat of their physic bond seem to increase. "Together,we are strong." "Stronger than before."The two breathed before smiling happily towards one another. The two knew that things would be tough but they also felt that at the moment nothing could touch them. Together they were a powerful fighting force. One that even the Order were scared of. Their most powerful Geass User had flipped the switched and betrayed them. They had lost a precious commodity. And they weren't too happy about that.
