Harry’s POV
I slide open the back of Maddy’s phone and slip out her sim card and replace it with mine. I stammer down the stairs to Maddy’s parents and inform them to ring my number if they want Maddy, I wrote it down and stuck it to the fridge, strangely enough they never asked questions.
“Thanks Harry,” Rachel said.
“It’s no problem, and thank you for letting me stay here for the past couple days,” I said, they deserved a good thank you. They’ve helped me a lot especially seeing I am a stranger to them. Technically. I went back to Maddy’s bedroom after they promised to help out my parents when they got home today.
“You can have the bathroom now,” Maddy said as she opened the door and revealed herself with dripping wet hair.
“Thank you, and Maddy I switched our sims over so now any texts or call you get from Jenna will come to me,” I said hoping she’d take it fine.
“What about Mum and...” I cut her off.
“I already spoke to them,” I explained, “their fine with it.”
“You told them that Jenna was sending me texts?” She didn’t sound angry but sounded a little confused.
“No, of course not, Mads I’ve got your back,” I reply and grab the clothes on the floor that I’d picked out for school. Maroon Jeans and a grey v-neck.
“That looks nice,” Maddy said tugging at the neckline of my shirt. She pulled me in.
“School?” I asked through deep breaths, she managed to make breathing a difficulty when she was near me.
“Mm,” was her reply. She tugged me closer until I was pressed against her body.
“But the time,” I whimpered as she kissed down my neck. I pulled back to her lips and kissed her one last time.
“Come on,” she said taking my hand. What was that about?
“Hey Harry!” Penelope Greenworth smiled at us and I smiled back a little hesitant. She was in my English class, how would she even know who I was? No one else did.
“Harry, nice shirt,” A girl I didn’t recognise noticed me. She had dark brown hair and wore a sun dress that was hemmed above her knees.
“What is going on?” I ask but Maddy is lost in her phone, well my sim card, her phone.
“This!” Maddy said gawking at a post that Jenna had written about me.
“’That new English guy is fabulous! I’d love to be the one on the other side of his King size bed’ Ugh, why would she write this? She knows I’m with you!” It made me angry.
“Exactly, I know her plan.”
“What is it?” I ask begging her to tell me.
“She want to get you popular,” I didn’t mind the sound of it, I was popular in England.
“Is that really that bad?” I watched her expression change from angry to shocked.
“Yes! In here if you’re popular every move you make will be watched, you’ll be criticised for everything you do, you’ll think you’ll understand how Jenna is thinking and then BAM you’re a goner! You’ll be putty in her hands.” I found Maddy’s explanation a little abrupt but I was willing to do anything she wanted to stay out of that situation.
“Okay, I’m on board!” I said and offered her an army salute.
“Well done soldier!” She said and we laughed on our way to class.
