Harry’s POV

My opinion on Tim is beginning to change, it seems he’s done a complete turnaround from trying to punch my lights out to wanting to be my best mate. I admit I’d prefer him as a friend then an enemy though. Mum is still in hospital and they think she’ll be in there until she has Bella. I want to take Maddy on a date, something we haven’t done yet.

“Maddy...” I say down the phone.

“Hey Harry, what’s up?” She asked. I sat at my computer chair.

“Nothing, I was wondering whether you would like to come on a date with me tomorrow?”

“Sounds great,” She says and I feel a ridiculous smile reveal itself on my face.

“Okay so I’ll pick you up early, be ready by 5:30am,” I knew this would freak her out a little.

“Okay...” she sounded hesitant which made me feel a little excited for tomorrow’s surprise.

“Too early?” I asked laughing a little.

“Uh no, that’s fine,” I knew it would be so worth it in the end though.

The sun isn’t up yet but I know it isn’t far away, my alarm clock reads 5:05am. I slip on pants and a jumper and pack a bag with boardies. I comb back my brown curls and head to the door. I open it to find Maddy drifting off to sleep, her head leaning against the rail to my balcony. I shook her guiltily.

“Remind me why we have to leave this early?” she groans wiping her eyes.

“It will be worth it, trust me,” I say hoping she will.

“I hope so,” She says pulling herself up by the rail.

“I hope you packed swimmers?” I double check, in the short time we’ve known each other one of the things I’ve noticed about Maddy is she is terribly forgetful.

“Got them on,” She said slipping down the shoulder of her shirt.

“Good,” I say jumping into my Mum’s convertible.

“Nice car?” She asks confused as to where this car had been hiding.

“A better view...” I say buckling up my seatbelt.

“Yeah okay,” She said jumping in too. She was finally starting to wake up a little and she started up a conversation, about cats...?

“So when I’m bored I look up cats on the internet,” She said. Random.

“Everyone has their quirks,” I laugh as she punches me In the arm.

“Be careful!” I squeal, “I’m driving here.” The sun began to rise and she finally realised why we had taken her jag. No roof let the sun burn down on our skin. The long straight of road was peaceful.

I watched as Maddy’s face lit up when she saw our destination, the hour long drive had stiffened our muscles but that was soon forgotten when I even shocked myself as to how beautiful this place was. Hand in hand we walked to the opening of the cave, water bellow us was still and led to an open lake on the other side. I stripped off into my boardies behind a tree and Maddy stripped back to her swimmers. They were a navy blue full piece and had a bow on the front of them. The sides were ruffled and she had the most perfect body I’d ever seen, she wasn’t overly tanned but she was brown enough to make me feel unconscious about my pale English skin. Hand in hand once again we carefully stepped into the cave and the water was surprisingly warm. It was dark but glow worms lit up the cave enough and it reminded me of a starry night on my cousin’s farm back in England where no city lights dulled out the stars. It was beautiful.
