The Disaster of Kalos (An Ending to Pokemon XYZ)

Part Six

James kept quiet as he hid behind one of the couches. He couldn't let them know that he was there and that he heard everything they said. He couldn't tell them about the truth of Lysandre. Not yet.

"James?!?"

James stood up from his hiding place in surprise when Ash, Serena, Clemont, and Bonnie yelled his name in shock.

"Hello twerps," James gave them a small wave.

"Why are you here?" Serena asked.

"It's...um nothing!" James said, laughing nervously.

Everyone looked at him in confusion, and James stood there awkwardly. Lysandre scowled at the Team Rocket member. He knew that James knew the truth about him, and he didn't want the others knowing.

"Why were you spying on us, member of Team Rocket?" Lysandre asked.

James gulped when Lysandre glared at him. He needed to tell the others. Now.

"Listen twerps, I have something to say about Lysandre," James began. "He-"

"James!"

A voice cut him off short and everyone turned to see Jessie and Meowth running towards him.

"I'm so sorry about my partner," Jessie apologized to Lysandre. "He can rush in on things unattended, right James?"

James nodded. He shouldn't have been so dumb. If he had told everyone who Lysandre really was, then he would have been killed.

 "You're exactly right, Jessie," James said, and grabbed her hand. "Let's go."

He began to run with Meowth, pulling Jessie with him. He was so focused on getting out of there, that he didn't notice that Jessie was blushing.

I know that we are the bad guys, but for some reason, I care about those twerps.

Everyone watched in confusion when Jessie, James, and Meowth ran out of the room.

"Well...that happened," Prof. Sycamore stated.

"Well, Prof., I believe that you were telling us something?" Lysandre cleared his throat.

"Not anymore," Prof. Sycamore replied. "That's all I know about Ash-Greninja."

"Wow!" Mairin exclaimed. "Do you think that could happen between me and my Pokemon?"

"It's a possibility, but I'm still not exactly sure what causes the Bond Phenomenon," Prof. Sycamore replied.

"That is interesting. I never heard of a human fusing with a Pokemon before."

Everyone turned to see Steven walk in, one of his hands in his pocket.

"Steven!" Mairin waved to the Champion.

"Hello everyone," Steven then noticed Ash. "Hey, I remember meeting you when you came to Hoenn. Ash, right? It's good to see you again."

"You too, Steven," Ash nodded.

"Wait, aren't you the Champion of the Hoenn region?" Clemont asked.

"Why yes, I am," Steven replied. "I came to check on Chepsie, but I guess I stumbled onto a meeting."

"Actually, it was just ending," Lysandre replied, and began to leave. "Alain, can I speak to you?"

"Oh, um sure," Alain replied, standing up. He turned to Mairin, and placed a hand on her head. "I'll be right back Mairin."

Mairin nodded and Alain left with Lysandre. Serena stood up, and sat next to Mairin, while the others began to talk to each other.

"It seems like Alain really cares for you," Serena whispered to Mairin.

"Do you think so?" Mairin whispered back, trying to hide her blushing face.

Serena nodded, and Mairin smiled. 

But her smile would not last for long.

"Alain, thanks to you, we have completed our experiment," Lysandre said. "Now, we can help Chespie."

"I'm glad," Alain said, smiling big. "Now, I can ask Mairin to travel around Kalos with me."

"It seems that you really care for her," Lysandre smiled.

Alain nodded, his head down, trying to hide his blushing face. Lysandre's smile grew wider, until it turned into a frown.

"Alain, you and I both know that this world is surrounded by filth," Lysandre told him. "People are greedy. I now have to tell you what our experiment really was."

"'Really was?'" Alain's smiled vanished. "What do you mean?"

Lysandre didn't answer because right then and there the ground began to shake.

"What was that?!?" Alain asked wildly.

"Thanks to you, Alain, we have taken control of both Zygardes," Lysandre grinned. "We have commanded them to destroy this world so we can began our new, peaceful world. And it's all thanks to you."

Alain couldn't believe his ears. The man who he thought he could trust had been lying to him this whole time.

"Bonnie! Let my sister go!"

Alain heard Clemont scream, and was about to run to see what was happening, but something stopped him.

"If you lied to me about your experiment, did you lie about Chespie too?" Alain asked.

"We always had it's cure all along," Lysandre replied. "We just needed you to help us.  And since you would do anything for Mairin, I found it as a perfect opportunity for you to help us."

"Everyone, we need to leave!"

"Lumiose City is under attack! I have to go see my father and Clembot!"

"You're not going alone Clemont! I'm coming with you!"

"No! We need to leave! I'll direct you all to my helicopter!"

Alain came concerned for his friends, and turned around to face the doorway. The person who was there made his heart stop.

"Alain, you caused this?" Mairin was letting her tears fall, and her eyes had the look of betrayal.

"Mairin..." Alain started.

"I can't even believe that we were ever friends!" Mairin cried out, and ran out of the room.

Alain grasped his shirt where his heart was. He couldn't believe that Mairin had said that to him. He turned to Lysandre and scowled.

It was all his fault.
