The Disaster of Kalos (An Ending to Pokemon XYZ)

Part Fifteen

Meyer, Clemont, Bonnie, Alexa, Shauna, Trevor, Malva, Clembot, Prof. Sycamore, and the gym leaders were all running towards the Prism Tower, Olympia helping Wulfric by letting her Mewostics to use Physic to float him along. They halted in horror when they saw the Prism Tower crumble to the ground. 

"No..." Clemont whispered, tears in his eyes.

"They might still be alive!" Malva frowned before running forwards, soon joined by the others. "We must hurry!"

As they were all running towards the ruins of Prism Tower, the other group was running towards them. Both groups stopped when they saw each other and breathed a giant sigh of relief. 

"Thank Arceus you guys are alive," Diantha said, smiling. 

"I don't see the Zygardes," Valerie spoke up. "What happened to them?"

"They dispersed."

All of them turned to see Lysandre approach them, a scowl on his face. He held two cages that held Squishy and Squishy's friend. Bonnie cried out in anger and tried to run towards Lysandre, but Clemont held her back. 

"What do you want, Lysandre?" Ash growled, glaring at the tall man. 

At this, Lysandre sneered.

"I will make sure that this world is perfect," Lysandre replied, sighing. 

"This world is perfect!" Alain yelled, anger rising in him.

"You weren't there, Alain," Lysandre simply stated, frowning sadly. "I tried to help people. I tried to shower them with kindness." Anger slowly began to rise in him. "And they repaid my help with greed! THEY KEPT DEMANDING THAT I DO EVERYTHING FOR THEM! IT'S UNGRATEFUL PEOPLE LIKE THEM THAT RUIN THIS WORLD!" He turned to Alain, his voice softer. "I thought that you knew that, Alain." He shook his head. "But I guess I was wrong. You are not welcome in the new world I'm about to create." He turned to leave. "If you wish to stop me, then let it only be Ash and Alain. If anyone else comes to the Labs, I will fire the ultimate weapon." He turned to Bonnie. "And, if Ash and Alain win, I will let these little guys go, and leave. However, if they lose, then I will fire the ultimate weapon." He turned to Ash and Alain and sneered. "I expect to see you two there."

With that, Lysandre climbed into a car that was waiting for him, and took off through the demolished Lumiose City. The group stood still before Bonnie spoke up.

"Ash! Alain! You have to win!" Bonnie cried, tears in her eyes. 

Ash nodded grimly, while Alain did the same. 

"We will."

Ash stood outside of Lysandre Labs, Serena, Alain, and Mairin by his side. The others had joined in what was left of Prof. Sycamore's lab to wait anxiously for them to return. The four of them stared at the door, swallowing nervously. 

"Make sure that you come out alive, okay?" Serena demanded, squeezing Ash's hand.

Ash looked at her and gave her a reassuring smile, squeezing her hand in reply. 

"Of course," Ash said.

Serena took a deep breath, and, after giving Ash a hug, she turned to leave. Next to them, Alain and Mairin were saying goodbye, and Mairin crushed Alain in a hug. Serena and Mairin nodded to each other before heading off to Prof. Sycamore's lab. Alain and Ash looked to each other before they entered the labs. 

"Where do you think Lysandre is?" Ash asked as they walked down the hallway.

"Most likely the battlefield," Alain replied.

Ash nodded, and both of them kept walking in silence. Soon, they approached the battlefield, and Lysandre stood right in the middle of it. The two friends made their way to where Lysandre was standing, and was greeted by a grin.

"Welcome, Alain and Ash," Lysandre greeted, taking out two pokeballs. "I hope that you will give me a satisfying battle."

Ash was about to take out a pokeball, but Alain stopped him. He looked around suspiciously, before eyeing Lysandre.

"Are you all alone?" Alain asked. "And if we beat you, will you really leave and not harm us?"

Lysandre laughed. "My dear Alain, have I ever lied to you before?"

Alain narrowed his eyes, and growled. Lysandre just sighed and nodded. 

"Of course I will keep true to my word," Lysandre replied, tapping his foot impatiently. "Now, send out your pokemon."

Alain nodded, and so did Ash. Ash released Greninja, while Alain released Charizard. Lysandre grinned and released Pyroar and Gyrados. 

"Let the battle begin."

"I really hope that they will be okay," Mairin said as she and Serena navigated their way throughout the ruins of Lumiose City. 

"I'm sure that they will," Serena reassured her. "They are really powerful trainers."

"Yeah, you're right," Mairin smiled. "They will be fine."

They were suddenly stopped by two Team Flare grunts and two Houndooms.

"W-What do you want?" Mairin asked as Serena stood defensively in front of Mairin. 

"We have come for you," one of the grunts said. 

Serena and Mairin tried to turn and run, but they were soon surrounded by more Team Flare grunts. The two friends stood back to back as one of the grunts' Liepards stalked towards them.

"Liepard, Hypnosis!" the grunt commanded. 

Liepard obeyed, and soon Serena and Mairin felt drowsy. The last thing they saw before falling into a deep sleep were the grunts walking towards them, grinning.
