"A-Ash?"

Ash stopped walking and turned to see Serena gone. Panicking, his head whipped around wildly. He soon noticed a flash of red from around a corner. He made his way over to where he saw the red, and discovered Serena standing on a balcony looking over Lumiose City. Relieved, he made his way over to Serena.

"Serena?" Ash asked, placing a hand on her shoulder.

Serena didn't move, but soon spoke after a while.

"Why?" Serena whispered. "Why is this happening?"

"I don't know," Ash whispered back, shaking his head. "But we need to stop this."

Serena turned towards Ash, gave him a small smile, and nodded. Suddenly, the building began to shake. Ash fell to the floor, and Serena staggered backwards. Ash scrambled to his feet as Serena dangerously approached the edge. Just inches in front of the edge, Serena stopped, causing Ash to sigh in relief. He began to make his way over to her, while Serena did the same. However, the building shook again, causing Serena to inch closer to the edge.

"Serena!" Ash cried out, running forward to grab her hand.

Their fingers brushed together before Serena had disappeared over the edge, a cry escaping her lips. Ash cried out, not noticing that Greninja had released itself from its pokeball, and had stuck its tongue to catch Serena. Ash hastily ran over to peer over the edge to see Greninja's tongue wrapped around Serena's waist. Ash sighed again and watched with relief as Greninja brought Serena back to safety.

When Serena was back on the balcony, Greninja pushed its pokeball, and it returned in a flash of light. Serena was shaking badly, breathing in and out faster than Ash thought a human could do.

"Th-Thanks A-Ash," Serena finally stammered. "A-And th-thank y-you t-too, G-Greninja."

Ash didn't say anything, just ran forwards and hugged her. Serena stiffed in surprise.

"I thought that I lost you," Ash said, letting out a shakey breath. "Don't scare me like that again!"

Serena felt the heat rush up to her face, but hugged Ash back.

"Are we there yet?"

"No."

"Are we there now?"

"NO."

"How about now?"

"FOR THE LOVE OF ARCEUS, NO!"

Silence.

"Now?"

Jessie fumed, and turned sharply to face her partner. James wore a bored expression on his face as he shoved his hand into his pockets.

"James, if you ask that question one more time, I will hurt you," Jessie growled, annoyance in her eyes.

James just sighed, and pushed by Jessie, whistling. Jessie looked at her partner, an eyebrow raised in confusion, her anger slowly leaving her.

"James," Jessie began, running up to him. "I didn't really mean that."

James shot Jessie a side-long glance, and gave her a smile. "I know. I know that you wouldn't hurt me if you didn't have to."

Jessie just folded her arms and huffed in reply. James let out a small chuckle, but it was soon cut out by the building shaking. Part of the ceiling above James began to crack, and tiny pieces of rubble sprinkled down in front of his feet.

"What-?"

"JAMES!"

Jessie grabbed James' hand, and dragged him towards her just as large chunks of the ceiling fell where James was standing. The two stood there, breathing heavily from shock.
