The Disaster of Kalos (An Ending to Pokemon XYZ)

Part Seventeen

Two weeks later...

"You're serious?" Ash asked, looking at his friends.

They all nodded, making him sigh. 

"I was hoping that we could stick together for a little bit longer," Ash huffed as he folded his arms, and leaned back in his chair. 

"Well, we have been asked to do certain things, Ash," Sawyer replied, sipping his soda. "Steven has asked me to journey with him back to Hoenn to help him find out more about Mega Evolution there. Tierno's coming with me."

"You're not traveling with Shauna and Trevor anymore?" Clemont asked, pushing his glasses up. 

Tierno shook his head, as did Shauna and Trevor.

"We decided to journey to Sinnoh," Shauna replied, smiling at Trevor. "I would love to participate in one of their famous contests, and it will let Trevor research new Pokemon." 

"What about you two?" Serena asked Alain and Mairin, who were calmly listening to their friends chatter.

"Prof. Sycamore asked us to research more about Mega Evolution," Mairin replied. "We're leaving for Frost Cavern tomorrow. What about you four?"

"Well, I was thinking of leaving Clembot in charge of the gym and traveling to Unova with Bonnie," Clemont replied. "It would be a good opportunity for her to see other regions."

"I'm planning to go back to Kanto," Ash replied. "After I settle for a bit, I'm thinking of checking out Alola. What about you, Serena?"

"Me?" Serena asked, pausing to think for a moment. 

"What about if you come to Kanto, and then Alola with me?" Ash suggested, smiling.

"I would love to!" Serena exclaimed, beaming. 

As the friends all sat around and talked, Bonnie stared out the window. After Lysandre destroyed himself and his lab, Ash and Alain let Squishy and it's friend leave. Squishy gave Bonnie a friendly goodbye, promising her that it would never forget her. After everyone had calmed down, they began to clean up the city, Steven, Malva, and Team Rocket helping. Once they were done, Steven left to get read to return to Hoenn, Malva went back to her post as an Elite Four member, and Team Rocket said goodbye to them before departing back to Kanto. Prof. Sycamore left to go back to his lab, while Meyer and Clembot returned to the newly built gym. The gym leaders and Alexa traveled back to their gyms, saying goodbye to the friends. It took a while for them to finish cleaning up the city, and now the group of friends were sitting in the Pokemon Center, having a friendly breakfast together.

"Bonnie, make sure to eat your food before it get's cold," Clemont said, looking down at his little sister.

"Okay, Clemont," Bonnie replied with a smile before taking a bite out of her pancake.

Time soon flew by, and they were all waiting at the airport for the planes to come in. First, came the plane for Steven, Sawyer, and Tierno. Waving goodbye to their friends, the three of them boarded the plane, and it soon took off. The next plane that came led to Sinnoh, and soon Shauna and Trevor were on their way to a new region. All that were left now were Clemont, Bonnie, Ash, Alain, Mairin, and Serena. 

"Well, I guess that this is goodbye," Clemont stated, sticking his hand out.

Ash smiled at his friend sadly, and placed his hand on top of Clemont's, Serena and Bonnie following suit.

"Just one last time?" Ash asked, earning nods from his three friends. "One. Two. Three."

They all raised their hands up high into the air and cheered. 

"It was fun traveling with you all," Clemont said, smiling sadly. 

Bonnie, trying not to cry, nodded her head. Soon, brother and sister, where on their way to Unova, leaving Alain, Mairin, Ash, and Serena alone.

"You didn't tell them, did you?" Alain asked, a small smile forming on his face.

"Bonnie would have been all over us," Ash replied, grinning. 

Serena giggled as she grasped his hand. "She would do the same if she found out about you two."

Alain chuckled as he placed an arm around Mairin. "That's true."

The four of them stood in silence and jumped when they heard the calling for the boarding of the plane that led to Kanto.

"I guess we have to go," Ash said sadly. He stuck out his hand. "It was nice to meet you."

Alain let out a laugh and shook Ash's hand. "You too."

With a final wave to each other, Ash and Serena boarded their plane and were soon on their way to Kanto.

The moon was high in the sky when, hand in hand, Serena and Ash approached Pallet Town. 

"I hope you don't mind the way this place looks," Ash said, rubbing the back of his head sheepishly.

Serena kissed his cheek in reply. "It's fine."

Ash beamed. "Then let's hurry! We might be in time for dinner!"

Ash took off towards his home, dragging Serena with him. He opened the door and called out for his mom.

"Mom! I'm home! And I brought Serena with me!"

"Welcome home, Ash."

*Look at this! After all of the blood, sweat, and tears I put into this story, I finally finished it! Nah, I'm just kidding. There was no blood. Anyways, I hope that you all enjoyed this story.
